Everything was starting to fall into place. Romana may suspect he had something up his sleeve, but he was fully prepared to make her believe everything that was going to happen was an accident. Despite the constant drumming in his head and the ravenous hunger he felt, he was still able to make his secret plots. That was his specialty after all, crafting secret plans so no one would catch onto them before he was ready to spring them. And this time around, he had a special treat in Romana helping him despite knowing his past record. Oh did he have plans for her!
An evil grin crossed his face as he thought of Romana. He all ready could tell she had a weak spot in helping him. Was it because of what happened on Gallifrey? It had to be, it would be the only reason she'd actually help him. They were the last of a dead race, and he was trusting in the fact that she didn't want the last three Time Lords to fall to two any time soon. He knew the Doctor's companions would come at him with the slightest provocation, but he was ready for that. And he'd use Romana to make sure they didn't kill him. He knew a few of them would undoubtedly stab him through both hearts so he wouldn't regenerate, but with Romana in play, he'd make sure that wouldn't happen. Of course it wasn't lost on him that Romana would be at odds with the companions, and possibly even the Doctor, for this. And that only filled him with glee.
Soon after dawn, he headed off to where he'd hidden the Immortality Gate. He hadn't really checked it through completely since he'd arrived here, and he needed to make sure it wasn't damaged. Otherwise his plans wouldn't be able to come to fruition, and he simply couldn't help that. Making sure he wasn't followed, especially by any of the Doctor's little friends, he made his way out of the city to the place where the Gate was. When he arrived, he immediately started looking over the machine, going over every inch of it to make sure everything was in tact. When he found it was structurally sound, he turned to make sure all of his coding was still in place. He sat and started going through all of the coding.
"Ah, perfect. No problems," he said to himself. The Master ran through all of his coding, then carefully hid his code under the normal code for this machine. After all, he didn't need Romana catching on that the code wasn't right. After double-checking that everything was in place, he clapped his hands together, that wide evil grin still on his face. "Now just you wait and see what I've got in store for you! No one will see this one coming." And that was the beauty of all of his plans. No one ever really knew what was coming. After all, he had become Prime Minister of England without any interference from anyone. Well, not until the Doctor showed up anyway. As always, the Doctor had ruined his fun, and perhaps the Doctor here now would ruin his fun again, but not before everyone in the world turned into him. And not before he took Romana hook, line and sinker under his influence.
"Dear Lady President, soon you will be powerless in front of the man you set free. It's poetic justice, isn't it? The prisoner holding his former guard captive. He had yet to see whether she was as susceptible as Lucy had been, but once he was restored to himself, he could hypnotize her. He was forming plans for her, but with Romana on his side, he didn't think anyone would kill him. Not if he stuck Romana in the way. "This will be spec-tac-U-LAR!!!" He grinned, drawing out the syllables of spectacular deliberately. Everything was now in place. All he needed were those witches to do whatever they would do while he was in the Gate. Then he'd be back to himself, and Saxon would rise again.
This world had no idea what monster was about to be unleashed upon it.
