When she smiled over at him, Robin grinned and started toward the small table, but he came to a stop and frowned a little when she half-rose before sitting again. It was uncharacteristic of her to behave in such an indecisive fashion, and he was starting to become a little concerned about what was on her mind. It could not be anything too serious, since he was all too familiar with the look in her eyes when something was wrong, and he was relieved not to see it now. But, that just served to further confuse him.
At her invitation, he replied, "Of course." Taking the remaining few steps over, he moved the empty chair so that it was next to the one she was occupying, rather than across from it. Lunch was forgotten, and he was focused entirely on his wife. "What's going on?"
