Who: Robin and Marian
What: some news
Where: their apartment
When: lunchtime on the 15th
Rating: high-ish
Status: closed, complete

Robin smiled as he let himself into the apartment. He smelled soup, and hoped it was vegetable; that and a roast beef sandwich sounded really good, especially after yet another long morning at work. They had all been going in early the last couple of weeks to help repaint the whole place and reorganize the shop, and take an inventory during the reorganization. He did not mind, but the extra activity did build up his appetite more than usual. Still, neither food nor work was the uppermost thing on his mind as he locked the door behind him.

The scent of lunch disproved one of his guesses as to why she had asked him to come home, but that was fine. He was just glad they had an opportunity to share the meal. He did not often come home for lunch, since the walk ate up half of his break; and besides, Marian was usually at work, too. So, this was a rare, but welcome thing.

But, that thought made him wonder what Marian was doing home now. Peering into the kitchen, he found her sitting at the table, staring off into the middle distance. She did not appear upset, rather seeming lost in thought; and in the interest of not startling her, he decided to greet her before coming into the room.

"Hey," he said softly.
