Giles was checking his watch for a final time when Buffy arrived, and he looked up at her with an inviting smile. Or at least he hoped it was. Buffy always had a soft spot with him, being his slayer he spent most of his time with her. She got to see more of his humanity than most of most would concerning the serious nature of the discussion ahead. Anyone else and he might have shut down, gone mechanical and simply through the motions of getting through the talk. But with Buffy things were different, they always had been since the very first day he met her at Sunnydale High.
"It's better to be prepared then caught unaware. " He mused with a small smirk of his own and tugged off his glasses to rub them clean of dust that'd gathered on the lenses. When he put them back on and adjusted them his smile broadened a little more. "Really. You never know when you'll need a..guide to demonic entities. Or a list of mystical.." He paused and looked through the stack. "Plants. Hell, I had to get stuck with that one. " Of coarse he had a few other helpful books, but mystical plants weren't exactly his forte as he told that Neville kid.
"You look good. Have a seat Buffy. "He gestured to the chair opposite of him in a very old fashioned way.
