Who: Billie Jenkins, Paige Matthews
What: Conversations!
When: Late Afternoon
Where: The magic shop Billie Works at
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

The sounds of the clock slowly ticked by, she thought today would never end. It wasn't that she hated her boss. Her boss was nice, but her boss also thought she was a witch, when she wasn't. Her boss was a bit flakey, and a lot of the stuff in here had nothing to do with magic. A lot of it did, but a lot of it didn't. Still, Billie tried to show the more useful items when she could. But working here was grating on her nerves. The thought of opening her own magic shop? Had not escaped her.

It had been a stead afternoon, it wasn't often that there was no one in the shop, but right now no one really needed her help. So she lounged against the counter, pen tapping aimlessly, wishing the ticks of the clock were going as fast as it was. Her boss was gone for the day, something about spiritual cleansing something or other. She'd gone flaky and Billie had stopped paying attention.

When she looked at the clock again, her finger moved ever so slightly, and the hands of the clock whirled to the time when she was supposed to close down. For a moment there was a satisfied smile on her face, but that melted away. She knew she couldn't keep the watch there. With another movement of her hands, the clock hands moved back to where they were supposed to be. "Oh come on closing time." she muttered.

"Go me." Paige said with a small chuckle. "I'd say you probably shouldn't be doing that but the way you've described your job, I can't say that I blame you." Paige was her whitelighter, not her disciplinarian. As long as it didn't have to do with magic, she wasn't about to tell Billie what not to do. And seeing as Paige was still learning things about this place, magic-wise, just as Billie was she was willing to trust the other witch not to get into anything too crazy. Billie so far had not disappointed her whitelighter. "Not that many customers?" Paige asked sympathetically. Small businesses. She didn't think she could ever do it. She didn't think she would have the patience for any type of business period. Temping before, and still doing a bit of it now, was as far as she was ever going to be willing to get in that world. That and helping Piper now and again with P3. "Got it." She said with a firm nod at Billie's advice on buying, though her eyes did give a the store a cursory glance.

Paige shrugged slightly. "It's been going." She hadn't really done much but it had been going. "Probably a lot faster than yours." She joked. "I went out and bought some art supplies. Went back home. Realized I needed some more groceries. Got those and ... went back home again. Decided that I should come and visit since I never have before, and I was thinking that you might enjoy the company. So here I am." Despite the slight rambling, that was an over simplification of her day. She had done other stuff around the complex but that wasn't at all very exciting. Not that the other stuff was but those were more solid, straight-forward things she'd done. Rather than saying, I went over papers for such and such. And we might need more holy water, etc.

The job wasn't terrible or horrible, it just had extreme boring moments. And moments when she wanted to smack her hand to her face and draw it down slowly in exasperation. Her boss was...special. Her boss was a very special lady who managed some very special moments. Special, lets go with that. "It's been steady, but no one really needs much help. They're just poking around." looking for something fun, or to try their hands at a spell for the laugh of it. Or because they thought something would actually help them become a witch. Last she heard becoming a witch in this world wasn't the greatest thing, but still, people bought the gimmicks.

"Everyone's day is going faster than mine." she pointed out as she watched a few teenage girls walking buy, pointing at some good luck charm. Grinning at Paige's very quick yet rambly explanation of her day, she nodded. "Company liked. How's the apartments?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "Dramatic? Intense? Any more wild parties lately?" sometimes she missed not mostly living with the charmed ones, but other times? She was pretty glad not to be in that building, it sounded like it could get a little wild. Really, she was better of having her own apartment with Christy.

Besides, asking Christy to move into the same building as the Charmed ones- again- people wasn't the best idea. Things were going pretty well, or so Billie thought anyone. She didn't want to mess anything up.

"It seems like." Paige said as her eyes followed the girls that Billie had pointed out. She would have gone insane by now. She didn't know how Billie did it. If it was her, she probably would be up and about incessantly asking people if they wanted help - to please take her help - just to keep from going too bored out of her mind. As much as she complained about it, Paige liked keeping busy. Not busy enough not to have fun but just busy enough.

"The apartments are good as they'll ever be." She sighed slightly and her shrug was even slighter. "We tend to have politics cropping up now and again, but things seem to have died down. Hopefully they stay that way for a little while." Paige did not envy Buffy at all some days. It had been bad enough being Headmistress to a magic school. She didn't miss those inner squabblings and petty actions at all. "As for the wild parties," Paige's tone became very sour and it was all she could do not to roll her eyes. If it wasn't for the fact that she trusted Buffy and the fact that Andrew had vounched for Spike more than once before? Paige would have long kicked him out. "Spike's gotten a warning. Maybe this time around he'll get a clue and not pull a stunt like that any time soon." If not, ever again. "How about you?" Paige physically pushed all thoughts of Spike away with the action of brushing and tucking some of her hair to behind her ears. "Been going to any wild parties lately?" She sing-songed just a bit, teasing. "If you have. Tell me where. And please tell me that it only isn't for the college crowd. Because it's a major pain finding a dance club that doesn't cater to the college crowd around here."
