Honestly, Stephanie had her own self-worth issues that she was good at keeping hidden, but they stemmed from other places. Like a father that was always lying about, well, everything, her first boyfriend was kind of a jerk, her second was, well, Tim. There were more times than she could count that she had thought Tim was cheating on her. But looking back? It's Tim. Just the idea of him cheating on her was a retarded one, she knew that now. But back then she didn't. Oh, plus there was the whole teen-mom thing, and being told by several masks that she was no good at doing the vigilante thing. Yeah. Those were a real boost to her ego.
So in short, Stephanie also had issues. Hell, she wouldn't be surprised if some crazy situation happened where Hermione ended up going home and coming back at Ron's age and Ron decided he preferred Hermione over her. That was to be expected, after all. Could have been up for debate if Rowling hadn't put that epilogue in there, but that was there and it was common knowledge that Ron was supposed to end up married to her. Not Stephanie.
But hey, it was a good thing that Stephanie knew how to keep things hidden, wasn't it? Most of the time she could, at least.
"Yep. It's the last book," Stephanie said simply when he brought up the Harry Potter books, eyes moving down to the counter where she picked at a scratch in the surface with a nail. There was only the slightest of hesitations as she quickly debated with herself if she should tell Ron any more than that or not. But hey, honesty and stuff. "There's an epilogue at the end of the book. Nineteen years after the, you know. Big take down of Voldemort." It wasn't her world so she wasn't used to saying things like You-Know-Who. "And then Rowling came out and gave more information that she didn't put in the books."
But hey. At least he didn't seem to think that the marriage thing was that bad of a screw up. That made her grin just a little. "Honestly? No, I don't think that it didn't turn out bad. You I actually like. It could have been a hundred times worse with... pretty much anyone else around her it might have happened with."
