Ron started smiling. Okay, Stephanie wasn't sure why he had started smiling like that, but he had. And that had made some of the awkward tension she was feeling ease up a bit. "Good," she said simply in return along with a slight nod. "Because I'm not exactly on the hunt for someone else to date right now. You're enough work as it is." That last bit had mostly been her teasing him, trying to ease up a bit more of the tension that was still there. That had been a very awkward conversation, after all.
But then he was asking about why she was reading about herself. Really, it was a fair question. Most people didn't go around reading comic books about themselves. But, then again, most people didn't get sucked from their world to a world where their real name was nothing more than fictional, they didn't exist outside the pages of a DC Comic book. Frowning slightly, she shrugged. "I just figure that eventually they'll get to the stuff I haven't been through yet," she started, eyes moving down to look carefully at the cover of the comic book in question. "This is still stuff I went through a little while before I showed up here. But hopefully they'll eventually start telling me what's going on at home now that I'm gone." She was worried about everyone, but especially her mom. She would hate it if something bad happened to her mom and she wasn't there to help her. Not that she would be able to do anything from Lawrence anyway, but she still wanted to know.
"Besides. If nothing else, I might be able to pick up on why I've screwed up in the past. You know, figure out how to not screw up any more. That sort of thing."
