It didn't bother him. It confused him, admittedly, but Ron wasn't terribly stirred about it. There was a tug of pride at the sight of her wearing the ring, in fact, even thought he prospect of marriage in itself practically terrified him. He wasn't ready for that kind of a relationship yet. Maybe later, if he ever got the hang of things without making a total moron of himself. But now? No, not particularly. He didn't even know if he was supposed to be married to Stephanie at all. Of course not. It had been a stupid mistake made on both their parts. He was supposed to marry Hermione, who he barely saw anymore. He still cared for her incredibly, but there was no way he was going to make any of that supposed progress with her if she didn't even acknowledge his existence. Or, if she did, it was rare. Whereas Stephanie was here. She was adorable, she was fun, and she was completely brilliant. If this all worked out with her, maybe the marriage thing could be done properly in the future. Until then...
"Yeah, I'm sure. If it's going to spare you the trouble, I honestly haven't a problem with it. It's your ring. I won't make you take it off or anything like that. Go on and keep wearing it, yeah? At least I'll be comfortable knowing that the...ah, weirdos won't be giving you a hard time of it without me 'round to hex them properly for doing so." Which was something that Ron would happily do now if anyone turned up and acted like a git in front of himself and Stephanie. Ron might not have been the most quality dating material, but he had a fierce streak of protectiveness in him. He supposed that came from being in such a big family, where everyone looked after each other because it was what they had been raised to do. Yeah, they were wicked mean to each other sometimes, but in the end they always came through. The way Ron saw it, Stephanie was someone he had to look out for now. As both a friend and a...well, whatever they were. Batgirl or not, she had a Weasley on her side. It wasn't a bad thing, considering he had a wand and the ability to make someone grow a pair of bunny ears. Or potentially make their heads explode, depending on how on he was with the wandwork.
