Well, that had been an awkward moment of silence, and Stephanie didn't look back at Ron until he spoke again. After all, up until then she had been quite careful to make sure that Ron didn't see her wearing it. She didn't want to freak him out or think she was trying to push him into anything, that would probably just scare him off. And to be perfectly honest, Stephanie liked Ron. She liked him a lot. Why would she want to risk screwing that up?
"You sure?" she asked simply as she looked at him once more, then bit down on her lip for a quick moment before continuing. "Because if we don't want me to wear it I can stop. It's not an issue or anything, I could handle myself just fine without it." And that was an understatement. Mostly she was just trying to keep the annoyances at bay.
"And yeah. It works," Stephanie shrugged a bit then. "I mean, guys are less likely to hit on a girl if they think she's, you know. Uh. Taken." Yeah. Her face was still bright red when she said that. She was sure of it. In fact, it was entirely possible that her face went even more red as she said that last bit.
Stephanie Brown didn't freak out in the face of a criminal trying to kill her, she didn't have any issue talking to people she hardly knew. But talking about relationship type things? Yeah. That threw her off. Especially since this particular relationship was kind of a strange one.
