Steph was, in fact, sitting behind the front counter. She had her feet up on the edge of the counter, leaning back in her chair so that only two legs were planted on the floor, and had, of all things, a Batgirl comic open in her lap. That's right, she was reading about herself. She had to have some way of keeping up with what was going on back home, after all. Really though, it wasn't that much of a help. Only four issues of Batgirl were out so far and it was all stuff that she'd seen and done herself. But whatever. Reminders couldn't hurt, could they? Maybe she could pick up on some of the places where she screwed up and, you know. Learn from it and stuff.
But after a little while she noticed a shock of read hair coming her way, and it was one that she'd grown to know pretty well by that point. Smiling, she closed the comic and set it aside before standing up to lean on the counter. "Hey, you," she said simply, watching Ron as he made his way closer to the counter. It was actually really empty in there just then. Only one customer in there since school was in session and it wasn't a Wednesday. But just because it was bound to be a slow day didn't mean that she hadn't worn that ring to work. She wore it every time to work, especially on the slow days. The creepiest guys to come in were the ones that came into the store in the middle of the day, when other people should be at work. "I wasn't expecting to see you in here today. Or, well, ever."
