Who: Giles and open
What: Finding his way to the complex
When: Backdated slightly to a couple days ago
Where: Complex lobby
Warnings: TBA

Giles' face was stuck in a permanent frown. It wasn't the fact that there were demons, or vampires, or even super heroes that bothered him. He was used to those things. It was the fact that these demons were nothing like theirs and Buffy had been injured because of it that upset him and put him in a disapproving state. Thanks to Violet he'd found his way to the complex easily enough, but that wasn't enough. He needed to learn all he could about the demons of this world. He needed a bloody library and no one had been able to provide one that was up to Giles' standards. Nudging the doors to the complex lobby open, Giles made his way a little further inside and found himself taken back. It was rather decent. More then he expected.

Setting his books down for a moment, Giles removed his glasses and wiped them clean with a soft towel from his coat pocket. His eyesight was terrible and fuzzy without them, but they were bothering his eyes. Replacing them, he picked up said books. He would never abandon them, not even for a moment. And in this world he needed them more than ever. Truth be told he had been hopeful for a break, though he knew such luxury couldn't have really happened with the number of apocalypses that somehow found their way into his lap. He knew it was really to good to be true. An all expense paid trip away from the crater that was Sunnydale.

It was days like these that Fred missed the weather of Los Angeles or Dallas. She pulled her coat tighter around her, shoulders hunching, scarf pulled up over her mouth. It had been a long day at the library, a party for a fictional character's birthday, and she'd had her fill of sugar hyper children and shouting and trying to make sure no one used the shelves as a jungle gym.

Pulling open the door, she stepped inside and pulled the scarf down from her mouth, basking in the warmth of the lobby. As she unwound the scarf from around her neck, she realized she wasn't the only one in the lobby. "Hello," she called to the other man, hesitating a moment. There was something about him that was familiar and yet she couldn't put a finger on why.

"Can I help you with something?"

Giles heard a voice and put a protective hand on his small stack of books. As if whoever was addressing them was going to really go for his books. However he didn't have anything but them and he was going to protect them with his life if he had too. But naturally he hoped it didn't come to that. Giles looked over his shoulder at the young woman who was coming in from the chilled air and raised an eyebrow. "I'm looking for Buffy Summers. " He spoke, his words thick with his accent that Xander often mocked.

"I was told I could find her and a room here." Giles picked up his stack of strange looking literature and turned to better face the younger woman with a forced smile. He was trying to remember what Buffy told him about being a people person, but it was kind of failing.

She pulled off her gloves and slid them in the pocket of her coat, wandering over towards the desk. Her gaze went to the books momentarily when he moved towards them, then back to his face, a friendly smile appearing. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of books those were. "Buffy? You've come to the right place," she said brightly, sliding the strap of her bag over her head and laying it on the desk.

"She's probably around here," Fred added as she tucked the hair behind her ear. She knew that people sometimes went out on patrols but chances were better of her being home. "And a place to stay I can help you out with." She disappeared for a moment and brought back one of the kits that Cal had put together, setting it beside his books. "Basic starting kit, since most people arrive here with nothing," she explained.

"I'm Fred Burkle," she said, sticking her hand out.
