Who: Locke and OTA
When: January 2, 11:30pm
Where: Downtown
What: Locke's arrival AND HE CAN WALK!
Rating: TBA
Status: TBA

John Locke had no idea where he was or how he got there. It looked like a deserted street, but from the smoke in the air he couldn't really tell. Not to far away from him was a smashed up car, it looked like he had been thrown from it - even though this wasn't really what happened.

Locke was lying flat on his back, he was bruised, but asides from a cut across his right eye he was unharmed. He glanced up and around, trying to figure out where he was, and how he got there and to see if there was anyone who could help him.

But then...Locke craned his neck, and looked at his feet, he could have sworn he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. Could it even be possible? No, he told himself quickly, it's not. He couldn't help but stare though, the part of him so desperate to believe in something, anything wasn't about to give up just yet. His shoes had been blown off and he was looking at his socks. Then he saw it, his toe moved. It moved. Locke sat up fully, his mouth agape as he stared at his feet. Slowly he reached down and touched his legs - he could feel it! He ran his hands down his legs to his feet, he could feel them! He could actually feel them.

This time he didn't hesitate. He slowly got to his feet. He was standing. There was no pain, no weakness. He was standing. After so many years of being confined to that chair - that prison, John Locke was standing.

A few feet away, next to the smashed up car, was what was left of his wheelchair, mangled and burnt, one of the wheels still spinning.

Jacen had seen the appearing man, the car swerve and crash, the whole thing, he'd even done what he could with the Force to stop either party from being seriously hurt, slowing the car with a wave of his hand and moving across to meet the man who had been thrown across the way, watching as he started standing with a strange sense of wonder about the very simple act. He seemed to focus so much on how it felt just to move, and then he stood, very very slowly and gingerly. That of course was when Jacen saw the chair and understood a little of why the man would be so happy that he could stand. If it were his of course, but whoose else could it be.

"Hello there" he called as he approached, not wanting to spook the man and not wondering what else he might have seen of what Jacen had done to slow the colission. If he had seen it that would make things a good amount more complicated. How did one explain the Force.

"Are you alright?" he asked, the man seeming still just a little shakey on his legs, of course if they hadn't been in use that would of course be normal. Jacen didn't think about not helping. The man would need guidance and for all he'd done, Jacen still didn't walk away from that sort of thing. Why wouldn't he?

Locke turned in the direction of the voice, and saw the other man standing there. For some reason he didn't feel scared, or panicked, maybe he was in shock even he didn't know - despite this he nodded and a smile spread across his face.

"Oh," he said, taking a deep breath and looking back at the car, and then the wheelchair. 'You can't tell me what I can't do,' he thought in it's direction. He turned his attention back to the other man. "I'm doing just fine, thank you."

He could walk. Unless this was some sort of very realistic dream, the fact he could walk was really all that mattered. He didn't think he was dead, he was just...somewhere else, he wasn't sure why or how - maybe this man did. Maybe this is what Locke needed, maybe this was a second chance, after everything he'd been through in the past several years he did deserve it.

"Would you mind telling me where I am, exactly?"

Well, he was taking it surprisingly well, too well possibly. Of all the reactions Jacen had known to happen on being trapped in another world and waking up confused. Smiling was entirely unexpected. Telling Jacen he was doing just fine was another unexpected one. Though he supposed the chair, and the walking. It was possible that's why he was so happy and Jacen could understand that a little more. It must have been a nice feeling. In fact it was a good feeling emanating from him. Jacen could sense it, and yes it was tied to the chair. He supposed he’d been unable to walk and now could which was definitely perplexing. He’d have to look more into that once he explained the situation to this man.

“You’re in a place called Lawrence Kansas. Earth if it helps. You were dragged here by a mystical seal locking a creature called Lucifer in hell. There are 66. One broke and started pulling people like us here. Me, I’m supposed to be...” Dead, in damnation? “Somewhere else” he decided on and moved over closer to talk to the man, still eyeing the wheelchair that was no longer in use. He didn’t know what to say beyond what he had. What else could he say to the fact the man was pulled through a seal into an alternative dimension. “There are places you can go. A complex that purports to look after the newcomers.” Yes purports, he wasn’t about to say otherwise while things were how they were. Letting kids be hunters. The woman was deluded. “I must say” he continued instead, “You’re taking this all very calmly. Most people at least look panicked. I’m not used to someone smiling through the transition to this place” He had to say it really. “Anyway, my name is Jacen, and I can bring you to that complex if you want?

Truth be told Locke was confused as to what was going on, but at the same time he felt a sense of calm, a sense of calm he had not felt in a very, very, long time. A lot of it had to do with the fact he could walk, the fact that the prison he had been forced to live with for so long no longer had a hold on him. The final grip his father had on him was gone. No more would people be able to tell him what he couldn't do, just because he was in a chair.

Locke's smile widened at Jacen commenting on how calmly he was taking this. Yes, he could understand how that would be strange. Most people he imagined, would be screaming and yelling quite possibly throwing things. He noticed Jacen looking at the chair, and his smile widened just a little bit more.

"I suppose my reasons for smiling are obvious?" he asked, looking at the chair himself and then back at the other man. "My name is John Locke, it's a pleasure to meet you Jacen. And thank you, that complex sounds like a good place to be."

Brought here by a mystical seal which had locked Lucifer in hell? Locke wasn't sure what to think about that. Other than the fact he was here for a reason, a purpose. Finally he had one. After years and years of waiting, he had a purpose.

Jacen approved of the calmness, much as he had to admit it had him a little unnerved. He wasn't used to it, he had to admit, and had considered just going into the mans mind to find why he was so exceptionally calm, but he decided against it. There was little point, and perhaps it would be more interesting to find out about it just from conversation. He wasn't here to take over or anything so ridiculous. He was actually trying to be helpful. But still the smiling, it made sense in connection to the chair.

"They do seem obvious yes, but your reaction to all this phased me somewhat I have to admit. And that doesn't often happen." As for the complex, Jacen wasn't as enthused with the place as he once had been. "It's a place to be" he said simply, he knew he was doing it an injustice though. Andrew and Buffy had done a great deal to get the place where it was even if he thought it was disgusting letting children hunt, even if it pained him in ways he'd thought he'd forgotten to be reminded of Anakin. "Its a good place to start out"

He wouldn't go so far as to say good people.

"Alright lets go, It's not that far and I get the feeling you're in the mood to walk?" he said, allowing himself a smile.

Locke was quiet as he listened to what Jacen was saying about the complex. Still taking everything in. A place to start was exactly what Locke needed. For so long Locke had been searching for some sort of reason to keep going, after finding out his father had conned him, and then threw him out of a building...he should have died. Everyone said he should have died, all the doctors, the witnesses to the accent - because that's what his father had told everyone it was - an accident. Losing Helen really had been the final straw, and Locke had given up. The walk about hadn't been any good either, since they hadn't even let him on it. It was the wheelchair, the accursed wheelchair, it took away everything from him - his life, his purpose, his everything.

Maybe now he had one again. For some reason Locke wasn't worried one bit about being here - in Lawrence, Kansas. He knew he wasn't dead, he knew he was very much alive. Maybe now he had a purpose, there had to be something in this place he was supposed to do. Finally. He could start over, leave everything else behind him. Never again would someone look him in the eye and tell him what he couldn't do.

Locke had to smile at Jacen's question and he nodded. "You would be right there, Jacen." He wasn't going to look back at the chair, that part of his life was over now. Now he had a new purpose, although what exactly he wasn't sure yet. In time he'd know, and everything would make sense. "So where are you from Jacen? You said you were supposed to be somewhere else?"

Ah now there was the question. He was supposed to be somewhere else, he could tell the man about damnation, about the fact that he really was supposed to be dead, gone. Suffering for his sins. But he decided to go with the other approach. Jacen didn't think telling this man he was from, how had they put it. 'A Galaxy far far away' was the way to do it. He was trying to work out how this went. "Right, I told you about the dimensions. Thing is some of them open to worlds which in this one are considered to be...stories." he said. "Fiction, Thats how it is in my case" he told Locke, looking quickly around and shooting a bolt of lightning down to the ground leaving a scorched patch of concrete behind and then opening his coat slightly to indicate the lightsaber hanging there. "If I were to tell you my parents were called Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, my uncle is Luke Skywalker? Would that make things clearer for you?"

He really had just thrown that out there. But maybe it was the best way. He continued walking toward the complex, he of all people bringing someone back was a bit rich but it really was the best place to bring someone with a million and one questions about all this. Jacen had his own version of the answers but he supposed the man should get the 'official' ones before making up his own mind. He wasn't out to push his opinion on people much as people might believe he was.
