Ruby was amused, Castiel seemed actually sort of impressed by the card theft. A whole sin and he was smiling about it. Not smirking. Oh no, because that would have been wrong. She decided then and there she was a terribly bad influence. She also decided then and there that this was a good thing and more people should have little demons on their shoulders willing to bring them drinking in Ireland. This angel wasn’t so bad all things considered. She should get him laid. There had to be an Irish girl willing to deflower him. Or someone back in Lawrence. It would be a project. Like getting him high. She had a theory that it would be hilarious. She should have gotten some of that stuff off Spike if she’d thought of it. Though what would it take to get an angel high. And why was she thinking so much about it like it was a possibility. He could still entirely smite her. Sam was worried for good reasons about this little meet up. Drunk Angel getting smite happy would entirely suck. Ruby very much liked being alive. Still right now they were good, right now he seemed entertained by the credit card theft. Sam wasn’t allowed to get annoyed. He had it illegally anyway.
“Oh fully aware. Entirely. He’s just that nice a guy. I’m so lucky” she joked. What would actually happen is that Sam would sulk if he worked out she’d taken the card, that expression might even get utilised. Either way she’d find it highly entertaining. “Probably best not to thank him directly though, he’d get embarrassed” she added watching Castiel sip the whiskey. “First times are always the best” she replied trying to hide her shock as he talked about the last time he’d been on this landmass, she forgot sometimes just how old he was, how much he’d seen and done. Sure she was old, in hell years she was older still, and somehow with Sam it didn’t matter. But talking to Castiel about Hermon and names long since forgotten by most she realised just how old he was, and it got her thinking about her own relationship. Did Sam ever think that about her when she talked about Wars and Rebellions long since consigned to history?
She’d think about that later, when she wasn’t discussing War stories with the other side. They were the same side now anyway. And there was more she wanted to know from him anyway. Advice even. “How is it I can talk to you?” she asked, “About hell, about the war, I can talk about Azazel. I mean, I understand what he was, of course I do. But he was good to me and Sam doesn’t...he doesn’t understand why I can’t hate him like he does? Maybe you understand that more than me. I know he hates him and he’s right to but...” Ruby laughed, “...advice from an angel. I really have come off hells payroll now”
