You get out of here and you don’t ever stop. That was what Roc had said, and that was what they were doing, with the help of their father, their Father, and one FBI agent by the name of Smecker, they were finally getting their chance at Yakavetta. Waiting in the -at the moment aptly-named- paddy wagon he was a little nervous, the same as he’d been that first night in the elevator on the way upstairs to face down whoever the Russian 'Big Man' happened to be. But then the signal came and just like that the nervousness was gone, replaced by a cool, calm sense of purpose, he knew exactly what his part was and what he had to do, he could almost feel himself being pulled along by something larger than himself, history, maybe, destiny for certain.
He followed his father and his brother through the door that Smecker had left open for them, slinging his bag of weapons up over the top of the metal detector as he passed through it easily, catching it on the other side, only to realize that he couldn’t see Connor or their father, in fact, this building wasn’t even the courthouse. His brow furrowed, lowering the bag to his side and glancing around, just to make sure he hadn’t missed something and this really wasn’t the courthouse. He was tempted, for a minute, to ask where he was, but he could hear Connor’s voice in his head, telling him that it was better to be lost than to be crazy.
He shook himself off, smiling and nodding a greeting to the woman at the reception desk, realizing that he was either in a library or a bookstore, given the sheer amount of bookshelves around, and if it was a library it probably meant that there were computers, and if there were computers he could at least find out where he was, if not why, and maybe he could find out what had happened to Connor while he was at it.
