Pike couldn't help smiling a little at that. She wasn't completely okay yet, no. He knew that wouldn't happen for a long while. But that didn't mean this wasn't a good thing. It was a start, and a solid one. Maybe it would take awhile, and maybe she would always be scarred by it, but she would be okay. He'd always believed in her, but it was some small comfort to see the proof of it. "No you're not," he said softly. "And you never will be." He wasn't sure what that thing had done to her, so he wanted to nip both statements in the bud. Because they were both true.
He kept his hand over hers for a moment. "You should keep that with you," he told her softly. "Anytime you think you see her, or feel her, or just feel the need, touch it. That way, you'll know she's not there and that she can't hurt you anymore." He didn't care if she wore it or just stuck it in her pocket or something. Sure, he'd have liked to see it hanging from around her neck again, but she might not be ready for that and he was okay with that.
He glanced down for a moment, taking stock of her cuts, and then looked back up to her. "Let's get you patched up, okay?" But he made no move to let her go. He was going to wait until she told him it was okay before he moved to get the kit.
