Who: Lavender Brown and Ruby
What: Lavender is a new arrival
When: May 26, 8:04 pm
Where: A park
Rating: TBA

Lavender Brown was not in a good mood. She hadn't been in a good mood when she went to St. Mungo's, she was in a worse mood when she left, and now and she stormed down the street she felt even worse. Apparently removing the scars from Fenrir Greyback's attack wasn't possible, at least not with the money Lavender had - you'd think someone who helped save the world would get a discount or something, but no.

She tugged on her sleeves as she walked. Her right arm, and a good portion of her middle were scared from when Greyback attacked her. She hated these scars. For one thing they were scars, and they were ugly - things would be different if she was a boy. Boys were allowed to have scars, scars were sexy on boys. On girls, they were a no, no - a big no, no. Besides they were a constant reminder of the battle, a reminder of friends who had died, a reminder of what she possibly might be.

Pavarti, had told her the scars were what some might call a "badge of courage," Lavender said she didn't believe in badges. She just wanted to be normal, she wanted to go back before the war when life was simple and easy and ...she knew she had been a bit of what some people might call a flake back then, but...

Lavender stopped walking, she was standing on a busy Muggle street, on her way to Diagon Alley. She sighed, an escape would be nice, an escape so she wouldn't have to think of the war, the werewolf stuff, anything. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down, the war was over, she should be happy to be alive period - even if she might be a werewolf. She was alive, she was...Lavender opened her eyes and then she widened them, gasping for breath.

She wasn't in the Muggle street anymore, she was in a...park? Instinctively her hand pulled her wand from her bag. This was, she didn't have a word for it...weird?

She liked this particular park, it was just one of those places Ruby had taken to walking in thinking back over the last year. She'd killed someone in this park once, to contact Lilith. Just slit their throat so pointlessly and she'd thought nothing of it. She never had done before Sam made her think. So she came back here now and again just focusing on who she'd been and where she was going. And it always helped. It was as she was walking the path from where they'd found the body that Ruby saw the blonde girl just appear right before her eyes. And she'd sighed.

Another one. Another appearance and another one that Ruby got to do the spiel to. it was a little unfair to the poor girl, she wasn't very good at the explaination part. But all the same she wasn't about to leave her out on her own knowing all she did. She moved across the park toward her trying to exude calmness. She didn't know if she was even very good at this. "Hi" she said simply wondering what this girls story was, she was holding a...

Was that a wand? Well that narrowed it down to witch. So she decided to go for the outright and said it. "Gonna guess by the wand, you're not from around here? And the wand also implies that you're not gonna be suprised if I say you were pulled here by a mystical seal"

It was worth a shot. Hopefully the girl wouldn't freak out too badly.

Lavender whirled around in the direction of the voice, her wand extended and pointing. For some reason she had been half expecting to see Fenrir Greyback or someone in Death Eater robs, but there was a woman standing in front of her instead. It could be a trick though, what if this was a comeback a retaliation? Her heart was going a mile a minute, but she was going to stay calm, she had to stay calm. Maybe this wasn't that, it could be something else...oh Merlin, be something else, she though.

Lavender swallowed hard and took a deep breath. "Hi," she replied.

Did she say mystical seal?

"I was...I...I...what?" Lavender scrunched up her nose in confusion. "Sorry, could you say that again?"

Ruby had expected the reaction. Less so the wand in the face though she was sure she should have. People got tempremental when pulled from one world to another. She could hardly blame the girl. And she had just told her about the seals. That would make anyone nervous really. So she stayed where she was, eyeing the wand and wondering how much the damage the blonde could do with it. Probably a lot, Ruby had never been one to underestimate. But all the same she tried again.

"Mystical seal yes. Basicly you've been pulled through it to another world. Our world, and you're not the only one. Purpose is to make you fight in a war. Not that you have no, not for either side. The seal is wacky and random like that, anything from Jedi, to robot hunters to pregnant teenagers. Its been interesting. But the fact is you're here, and you're stuck. Its not fun. But I can help you out. I can bring you somewhere safe." In theory. This girl would get forced into the crazy politics that was the complex. Ruby was glad sometimes that she was a demon.

"Anyway, welcome to Lawrence. I'm Ruby" she said deciding to leave out the 'by the way, I'm a demon' part for now. It seemed safer

It was the phrase 'make you fight in a war,' which caught Lavender's attention. That and 'stuck,' and 'not fun,' she felt her pulse speed up, and her stomach clenched. She didn't want to be part of another war, one was bad enough! Why couldn't she just live out a quiet existence for the rest of her life and now this.

She swallowed hard and lowered her wand. She didn't think this woman was a Death Eater, at least she hoped she wasn't. She ran a hand through her hair, and took a deep breath.

"I'm Lavender," she replied, glancing at the park around them. Where was Lawrence? Ruby had an accent did that mean they were in the United States?

Lavender took another deep breath, trying to keep calm. She didn't feel that panicky, yet - who knows what might happen later.

"I um...somewhere safe sounds good," Lavender said, nodding. "Are we in America?"

The wand got lowered which Ruby decided was definitely a good thing. The girl didn't seem to be a threat and she understood that it was more of a shock reaction than anything else that had lead to the pointed wand. And of course she was probably terrified. Ruby didn't blame her one bit. She instead just held out her hand for Lavender to shake, just so she'd feel like maybe she wasn't entirely on her own here. It might just make a differnce to the whole transition. And maybe she could actually help. Maybe she could do something. For now she could start with where were they? The girl wasn't American. That was obvious from her voice. Neither was Ruby of course but coma girl was.

"America, yes, Kansas" she clarified picking out the accent. "English?" she asked the girl not really needing an answer, she'd spent a lot of time in Europe and time in Ireland and England specificly. And she was pretty sure she'd been born in one of the Germanic states, maybe. She got a sense of it sometimes. "I'll bring you to a complex where a lot of the newcomers go and they can look after you. I don't stay there myself, my boyfriend and I have a place in the city. But they'll get you set up. You'll be fine there" she reassured her. She did have to ask about the wand as she pointed Lavender toward the street they'd ned to take.

"It's not that far, we can walk it if you're okay with that. Have to ask, no issue if you are. You a witch? Only, y'know...wand?"

Lavender nodded when Ruby asked if she was English. This was beyond strange. Did things like this even happen? Lavender wished she paid more attention in Professor Bins class, if this had happened he would have mentioned it wouldn't he? Or maybe it would have been in Charms class...or something?

She shook Ruby's hand, the touch confirming that this was not a dream, but at the same time Lavender found it oodly comforting. She always had been a person who liked personal contact after all.

"Walking, yeah, I can do that," Lavender nodded. "Walking is good, I do that to clear my head a lot..." she trailed off a little. She also had a habit of talking to much when she got nervous.

"Oh," Lavender's eyes traveled down to her wand, which she was holding so tightly her knuckles had turned white. "Yeah, yeah, I'm a witch."

The girl babbled. That was a trait she'd always found entertaining. But it was a good start. She'd do okay here if Ruby got her where she needed to be, as for her being a witch, well she was in good company. "Different kind of witch, But I'm one too, so you don't need to worry about that. You're going to be okay much as its a shock. You've reacted pretty well to all of the crazy so well done on that. Not everyone does. I'm convinced there's a group of displaced people who haven't found us and have just run screaming for the hills. Not that I blame them. I might have done it too if it happened to me."

She started walking off toward the complex with Lavender at her side. "You're not by far the only one this has happened to. You can put that away if you want. If I had means to hurt you and wanted to, I'd have done it by now wouldn't I?" Okay it was kind of harsh logic but it was true. Why wouldn't she have hurt her if she was going to. All she was here to do was help the girl, get her to the racist apartment building and she'd be safe there, meet Andrew or Buffy and they'd do the official spiel. Andrew being the one to actually write up that whole, so now you're in Kansas thing they all found so useful. She supposed it was. Though Andrew was still strange.

"Do you have any questions yet, anything I can answer I will?"
