Sure, it had been Christmas last night. The thing of it was, Ron wasn't exactly all that concerned with Christmas when he had something far more interesting occupying his attention. Well, someone, if he wanted to be more specific. Rather than admitting that out loud, Ron shuffled awkwardly from one foot to the other, before he rubbed at the messy mop of hair atop his head again. "I 'spose I was tired. Forgot all about it." Decent excuse. Nothing she'd question. Seemed more than simple enough.
Orange juice. Ron could do orange juice. "Better you with the waffles than me with...er, most anything else, actually." He grinned a bit sheepishly at that. Ron wasn't particular the best cook in the world. He could serve food brilliantly, but the process of actually preparing it was another matter entirely. Serve and eat. Eat and serve. It seemed simple enough, even if he sometimes got the two mixed. It wasn't his fault either; people ought to know better than to order delicious things like chicken strips without expecting Ron to want to take a nibble. It was common sense. "I do coffee, tea, butterbeer..." Ron walked over to the fridge and pulled the door open. Spotting the juice, he hauled it out and made for the glasses. "Orange juice. I'm not particularly picky, you'll find." He paused, halfway through pulling a glass out of the cabinet. "Did you sleep all right?" Ron was pretty sure that he snored. He didn't want to bother Steph all the time with his snoring. That was the sort of thing that could easily put a woman off a bloke, wasn't it? Seeing as Ron found he was really very fond of Steph, he didn't want to make her dislike him in any way. It was strange, their situation, but it worked. Sort of. Them being married wasn't like they were actually married, but it was still nice knowing that they could have this...thing - whatever it was - and be more than all right with each other. He would have panicked much worse if it were someone else. Steph just made it easier. He didn't know why or how, but she did.
"Here." Ron turned from the counter and offered her a glass of juice once it was filled. "See? I'm a fantastic drink preparer...er."
