At first Andrew was worried that he'd misjudged entirely with the journal because James' first reaction wasn't exactly what he had been hoping for when he came across the thing in the store. Thankfully James' reaction shifted after a quick moment. Andrew gave him a nod when he asked if it was for lyrics. "Uh, yeah. I mean, if that's what you want to use it for. I don't really care what you use it for in the long run. I mean, lyrics and stuff were what I thought of when I saw it but it doesn't have to be for that." Andrew was really glad that James was having a good reactions to the gift. Glad enough that he was calming down a bit, not quite so bashful and nervous, and there was a genuine smile on his face.
And then James caught Andrew's eyes and his face went a little red. But hey, Andrew managed to keep himself composed that time.
The wizard's reaction to his other gift made him smile even wider though. He knew that James liked Elvis, he'd mentioned that on the boards before. Plus Andrew had over a years worth of memories in his head about James. There was no telling how much of it still held up as truth, but some of it was bound to be accurate. And so when Andrew had gone into Best Buy in search of Dawn's Christmas gift and spotted a boxed set of all of Elvis' movies plus a couple concert specials? Yeah, he'd had a feeling that it was dead on for James. "That was an even better reaction than I hoped for."
