The Master was lurking around the outskirts of town. Romana had given him a place to stay, but he felt too cooped up in there. He would rather be outside and wander around as he pleased. He was all ready disliking this place. Too many of the Doctor's Companions were here, not to mention Romana and one of the Doctors were here too. He didn't think he'd be able to get away with his plans easily anymore. Though he could maybe slip under the Doctor's radar a bit since he didn't know that one and that one didn't know this regeneration.
The Master was in a fowl mood from that whole fake life fiasco. He didn't like his head to be messed with like that. He'd eaten two people as his revenge after things went back to normal, though he also had needed the energy boost. The fact of the matter was he was still trapped in a failing body. He needed to fix that, but he didn't know how. If the damned drums weren't so loud, he could probably think long enough to find some solution. One that didn't involve forced regeneration. Though he knew that wouldn't help. He'd gone through a full 13 regenerations plus another two in his current life span. In all of those changes, the drums had always been there, never ceasing. If anything, they only got louder as time moved on. They were his drums of war, but he hadn't yet worked out just which war they were meant for. But whatever it was, he had to be getting close to it because the drums were louder in this body than they had ever been before. Could the time of reckoning be at hand?
The Master was foraging through a garbage bin, looking for any uneaten food left. The insatiable hunger drove him nearly as mad as the drumming in his head did. Just as he spotted a promising wrapped package in the bin, he felt it. His head snapped up, a look of confusion on his face.
"What?" It was another Time Lord. But how? The rest of them were dead. The only remaining Time Lords were here in Lawrence all ready. But then a thought occurred to him. The Doctor that was here was one he didn't know, and was obviously pulled out of a different time. So people weren't just pulled out of different points in space, they were pulled out of different points in time, too. A slight pang of excitement grabbed him and he took off at a run in the direction the new Time Lord was.
It was almost too good to be true! Another Time Lord, but which one? Was it another Doctor? If it was, that could mean more bad news for him in the long run. He knew he had no friends among the Time Lords, so a best case scenario would be one of the Doctors, hopefully the one with spiky brown hair and the trench coat. It didn't take long before he arrived where the new Time Lord was. He came to stop about twenty feet off from him. The man's back was to him, but a grin spread across his face as it was in fact the newest Doctor he had been about to show off his use of the Immortality Gate to before he was pulled here.
"Doctor!" He called. "Oh this is brilliant!" A joyous little laugh erupted from him. This was almost too good to be true.
