It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Houses along the route she ran almost every morning were putting up decorations, lights lining the front of houses, giant Santas and snowmen waving from front yards. Reindeer on top of the roofs, wreaths on doors. It was undeniably one of her favorite times of the year and had been since she was a child. Those years, she had curled up under her blankets and listened hard through the night, waiting to hear eight sets of hooves and a sleigh touch down on the roof. She never made it to morning, falling asleep in the early hours of morning. There were always presents waiting when she got up though.
Even after she quit believing in Santa, and then found out he was something of an evil demon, it hadn't dampened her enthusiasm for the holiday. Not even being here with no way to get in contact with her girls in NYC, or the girls she'd fought with in Sunnydale, or the rest of the crew that had taught them, was going to kill her enthusiasm. Buffy, Xander, Andrew, Faith, and Dawn were all here and the new acquaintances she'd made.
Vi came to a stop near the front doors and headed inside. Standing in the lobby, she did a couple quick stretches of her arm and leg muscles before heading towards the community kitchen, a small bounce to her step, singing quietly to herself. "What a bright time, it's the right time, to rock the night a - oh hey," she said, grinning as she spotted Andrea. "Afternoon."
