Who: Robin and Marian
What: an evening out
When: evening of the 14th
Where: some nice restaurant that has a dance floor
Rating/Warnings: PG
Status: Closed, complete

Toying with the stem of his wineglass, Robin smiled as he watched Marian set down her fork. The food had been as excellent as he had been told, but the company was truly the highlight of his evening. It was so strange to think that it was only a week ago that he was worried that their relationship might be irrevocably damaged; the moments when a thought from it bothered one of them were becoming less frequent, which was a relief. He doubted they would ever go away completely, but at least they were manageable.

But now, he was able to simply enjoy the sight of the woman whom he was marrying-- for the third time-- in twelve days. He would marry her a hundred times, if that was what it took, but he rather hoped that this would be it.

And, that neither of them would be near death this time.

Sharing a meal and pleasant conversation in a softly-lit restaurant made all of the horrible things they had experienced or witnessed in their lives fade to the background. Here, it was easy to just be calm. That was a good thing, too, since he suspected that she would not appreciate another romantic gesture under dire circumstances.

As Marian looked from her plate to him, Robin asked, "So, how was it?"
