He paged to the front of the menu, scanning down the page until he found the column near the bottom. Leaning forward, he tugged the top of her menu down just enough so he could reach over and point to it. "Plain, strawberry, blueberry, and chocolate chip," he said, sliding his finger down next to the choices. The blueberry ones sounded decent, although being the time of year that it was, the berries probably weren't the best. He pulled back, looking down at his own menu again. Maybe with a side of bacon.
"Yeah, old Lucy," he murmured distractedly, making up his mind a second later and looking up at Eve. "Unfortunately, this isn't our dimension anymore. It sounds like Lucifer is going to be a big player if he gets loose, especially with this Lilith running around. So far she's acted like a competent second-in-command." He flipped the menu shut, shaking his head. "It hasn't been pretty so far. It doesn't matter who you side with or why, there are days when you get the metaphorical shit kicked out of you for no reason. Anyone or anything can come through that broken seal and there's a couple powerful beings around that like screwing with people for the hell of it." He chewed his lip, looking wistful. "I wish I had that kind of power."
He'd be having a lot of fun right now. As it was, he was having to rebuild on what he'd lost when he died. "I'm going with neutrality for now. I'm not selling my soul or making a deal with a demon anytime soon." His time in Hell had been enough to make him shy away from the notion for now, power or not. There were other ways. "I could care less about either side." He glanced up as the waitress approached, giving her a friendly smile that wasn't all that genuine.
"I'll have the blueberry pancakes, bacon, and a cup of coffee," he said, then nodded to Eve. "And whatever she's having is on my tab."
