Even though everything that had just happened wasn't real, Mina couldn't help but be completely devastated. For the past week, she'd had her son back, innocent and pure. It may not have been Quincey, but it was enough to push her over the edge. It was just another reminder of everything that she had lost so long ago.
It was all too much to take. It didn't matter to her that the life had been made up, it still hit her sore spot deep down inside her. After having watched her son die in her arms, she had thought she'd buried it along with the remains of who she used to be. But now, after having images of her fictional son in her head, the wound had been ripped open completely, bleeding for all to see.
The anguish that came with it was too much for her to bear. Mina cursed Dracula for her existence, for ruining her life and taking away everything she had ever loved. And now, she no longer wished to dwell in her human shell. Instead, she drew some of her blood and put it in a vial. After putting her dialysis machine away, she stood up and downed the vial of blood. She dropped the vial as Dracula's blood surged through her veins. Mina threw her head back and let out an inhuman cry as she sprouted her fangs. It took only a few moments before everything came alive.
The room before her suddenly swam into vision. It was hazy at first, but cleared after a few moments. Mina's vampire side was in full control and a smirk crossed her lips. At a normal human pace, she walked to her apartment door and stepped into the hallway. The instant the door closed behind her, she took off at an inhuman speed heading out of the apartment complex and to the street. To anyone who might have seen her, she appeared as barely more than a blur of color rushing by.
She wanted nothing to do with her human self right then. Instead, she would lose herself in her vampiric nature. Mina didn't want to feel the pain of the wound that had just been cruelly ripped open in her chest. While she normally fought against the beast that dwelled within her, she readily gave into it now. There was no telling what sort of chaos she would create or how many people she'd attack in this state.
Mina came to a halt at the foot of a tall building. She gazed up at it, growling a bit. It only took her a few seconds to scale the building and she found herself standing on the roof, gazing around at the city spilled out below her. She could smell all the humanity, all the blood that called to her. And for now, it would be her only solace.
