“No” she reasoned, thinking about it. She hadn’t hurt anyone of course. She didn’t hurt people much as those dreams told her different. Told her she was some kind of monster and more than that, sort of liked the feeling, all that power that came with it. But she couldn’t control it, like he’d said. And maybe she really was just afraid of hell. Who wouldn’t be afraid of the things she’d seen in her dreams. It felt easiest to believe him, safest. She would happily believe him and everything would be alright. “I suppose you’re right and that's all it is. I’ve never hurt anyone outside of my dreams. I just don’t wanna dream it anymore, y’know” Sam was telling her he was gonna follow his feelings. Just follow them and let them lead him were they would. Maybe they were both screw ups and maybe just maybe, that was okay. “You’re saying you belong with me, well I think it too. Screw ups and all. I just worry you deserve more. But if you’re saying this is what you want then I guess I can live with that. We can help each other through, can’t we. Crazy dreams and all”
She had to admit the rest made her wish they hadn’t gotten started on the topic. Talking about the drugs bothered her, but she wasn’t stupid. It’d be a hard road. But she’d make him better, just like he did for her. “You’re gonna quit the drugs. You’re gonna get to see your kids and you’re gonna be there when Lauren wakes up. You’ll make it all better like you say. Because I’m gonna be here to help you. Understand”, Now it was her turn to run a soft hand along his face. Terrible husband he might be but she wasn’t out to marry him. He was content to be with her, that's what he was saying and that's what she’d believe. He got up to get his coffee again and sent her a stern glare she was pretty sure meant drop the stupid worries and just accept he was here with her and they both deserved the other. That was okay.
“Okay. I’ll believe it. I’ll believe it if you kiss me. How about it?”
