Maybe she was a telepath. It would be easy to find out, to look at any bad things in her past, and violent things, but the whole invasion of privacy thing. She wouldn't look unless she needed to, and she didn't need to. "I can believe that." unless they were another type of telepath. She wasn't a half demon who could hear thoughts. She seemed perfectly human, but apparently that didn't mean much.
"You were brought here without him." she said, thought it wasn't a question as she kept the girl in her vision. "Do you need him to look after you?" was him not being here going to cause problems for her? It was her job to care these days, about people, human and other world. She was so young, maybe the age of her daughter, at the most.
River? Must have been her name, and that was confirmed when she held out her hand. "I'm Eve." she offered, reaching to take the girls hand she shook in firmly, but not to hard. There was something warm about her touch, almost hot. All Angels ran at a hotter tempreature from her reality.
