WHO: Tony and Amanda. WHAT: Fencing. WHEN: Late afternoon. WHERE: A gym of sorts somewhere. RATING: TBD.
What with all of the crazy going on lately, it only seemed reasonable that people began looking for ways to distract themselves. Distractions were good. Being distracted meant that they were less likely to do something insane or to go insane, which was something that Tony held no interest in becoming. Because as unbelievable as things were back at work, he knew that he had not lost his mind. There was no way that a building full of people could have lost it like that. It was absolutely impossible, so he decided to just keep his chin up and move on...even if things did seem more than unbelievable and wacky as of late. Ghosts, his roomie jumping into a marriage on the first date, that sex tape being posted all over the work building by an anonymous source. It wasn't just any old sex tape either - that tape involved dozens of his co-workers going at each other in some wild, orgy from hell. An orgy that Tony, personally, could have lived without being forced to watch, thank you very much. As such, distractions were needed. And since he was pretty sure that he wasn't the only person in the world who needed to be thrown off the wagon of ultimate confusion, Tony invited Amanda to come sparring with him. It was tiring, it was distracting, and it was fun. Three things that he needed to keep himself from contemplating the crazy more than he needed to.
Dressed in the traditional white protective gear, Tony swung his sword around with a hand, feeling out the familiar weight. He was still waiting for Amanda to finish dressing. Until then, he'd play around. He flipped the sword over, grabbed onto the handle with both hands, and swung it around in a full circle. Then he stopped back, twisting it to the side with an experienced sort of flow. He had been doing this for years. Lifting weights and all of that fun stuff? That stayed at work. This was where the real fitness came in for him. It was challenging and competitive. Very fun, all around.
Again, he swung the sword. It whipped through the air cleanly, before falling to his side as a small group of teens roamed past. Tony spotted Emily, one of the gym staff leading them. Automatically, he knew that they were being given the tour. They'd probably sign up for lessons, come in and make fools out of themselves given the cocky manner some of them seemed to carry...and then they'd probably quit. That happened a lot with those types. They were in for the showing, not the telling. Tony shook his head, eyes turning toward the women's locker room. Again, the sword in his hand flipped over. She'd be ready soon.
