Who: Ollie and Faith
What: Ollie’s trying to prove to Faith that something is up! In creative ways.
Where: Faith’s place.
When: Around noon, on Sunday.
Rating: PG or PG-13, just in case, given the characters involved.
He felt like he was in Vegas gambling. And somehow, that made him feel confident. He wasn’t sure why, but somehow he felt more sure of himself now that he was pulling some crazy, somewhat melodramatic gesture out of his ass. It felt weirdly right. He wasn’t really sure what to do with that, but whatever. If this was going to work, he would need confidence.
Okay, so this wasn’t rummaging through the mythology section of a bookstore or a library. He was still planning on doing that, but for some reason this was just as important to him. There was a part of him that was terrified. If he was wrong, he was going to come across as crazy. Maybe even crazy enough that she would lodge a complaint to HR, which would be very bad for him given the open secret that was his problem with alcohol.
There was also the fact that Allen would probably murder him in his sleep.
So it was basically a roll of the dice, and that thought brought an almost instant comfort and surety of purpose. This was weird and getting weirder. He hadn’t felt this confident in…a really, really long time. So as he approached the door to Faith’s place and pulled out the spare key he’d been given, he didn’t feel as nervous as he would have under normal circumstances. He took a deep breath, unlocked the door, and pulled it open, poking his head in. “Faith?” He took a couple steps in, looking around for her. She would probably notice right away that he didn’t look hung over at all. In fact, he was standing straighter and looked more focused and clear-headed than she would have ever seen him.
