She felt pretty stupid, crying like she was. It’s not like her, honestly - even when she does end up breaking down she’s always done her best not to let on, not to let it show quite so obviously. Even when it’s Jacen. But right now she just, she couldn’t help it. This is right up there near the top of her list of worst days ever.
>"...I should close down the bond. I did it so much back home it became natural. I prefer it. Would it bother you that much?"
...would it bother her? Of course it would bother her, it would be like he was deadgone again, and she’d definitely had enough of that. But obviously it doesn’t bother him the same way, it’s apparently better to him, and she pulled away, wiping at her eyes and fighting off a scowl, angling away from him so she doesn’t have to look at him.
It’s not like she should have expected anything from him, right? He’d already said he didn’t plan on being her Jacen again. And even though she wanted to help him, to pull him back, she hasn’t done it yet. Part of her anger was aimed at herself, for getting her hopes up. She shouldn’t have been so optimistic so fast.
“You’ll do what you want, anyway,” she said, and if it came out something like a growl, that’s okay. It could have been worse, because her hands itched to curl into fists and hit something, hit him, but she didn’t. So, she’s doing pretty well, considering. “Doesn’t matter.” It did matter, it mattered a lot... except apparently it didn’t, not to him.
