"I can't do anything if she doesn't want to." Robin might not want to hear him say that, but he wanted to say it anyway. He couldn't help but feel that Robin would be saying all of this to him and not to Marian. And that somehow it would come down to him. No doubt Marian didn't think there was any problem. He wasn't being fair again, though. If he wanted things to work out, maybe he would have to be the one to do it.
"You and Marian? Not fussy? Well, if you say so," he said making his tone purposefully doubtful. "But that isn't the point anyway. Just because it is a wedding does not mean I need a date." It was easy for Robin to say. Not that he would, but if he wanted to, he could just walk up to someone and say 'It's me, Robin Hood', and they'd jump at the chance to spend time with him.
