Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:the doctor (9), the master

Who: The Doctor and The Master
What: A meeting of old enemies in which the Master tells the Doctor what's happened to him
When: An hour after this
Where: A diner
Rating: TBA
Status: Closed, incomplete

The Doctor had arrived. While part of the Master was apprehensive, he was more excited at the moment. It was just one more person to have fun with, though this version of the Doctor was one he didn't know. The Doctor also had no knowledge of the Master in his current form. That could either be a good thing or a bad thing, but time would tell on that respect. The Master needed to tread carefully, not knowing how the Doctor would react to him. That was thing about regenerations, while some things always remained the same, one could never really know what to expect as far as personality went.

At the alloted time he was to meet the Doctor, the Master arrived at the diner. He had the hood of his sweatshirt pulled up over his head. He did enjoy traveling incognito like that. It tended to help him slip through the shadows and avoid being noticed. When he stepped into the diner, he glanced around, looking for the Doctor. Just the feeling of seeing the Doctor here was enough to cause an adrenaline rush in him. He had to keep his plans secret. He didn't need the Doctor foiling them before he could even see them through.

He was nervous. Which didn't happen often to him. But why wouldn't he be? After all, the Master-while he'd been a friend a very long time ago-had been an enemy. The last time he'd seen him, he had been trying to steal the Doctor's regenerations. Again. But of course, it hadn't worked.

Then the Time War had happened and, despite himself, the Doctor had been forced to put it all aside.

Now? He was actually rather pleased that the Master was alive. And Romana. Because it meant that he truly wasn't alone. Something he hadn't actually started getting used to-and had figured he never would. No, the Doctor had feared the loneliness would consume him-til he met Rose, anyway. She'd kept it at bay, but there were still times when he really just missed someone with the same type of intelligence as himself-and someone who remembered. He knew he was too sentimental for his own good, but he went to the meeting anyway.

Even though it practically had it's own bright, neon sign that screamed 'TRAP'.

The Doctor was already in the diner, of course, and was eating an ice cream. Strawberry, in fact, on a cone. Ice cream was one of the few things that humans got right, in his opinion. When the Master stepped in, he glanced over to him and raised an absent hand in greeting, though an embarrassingly soft part of him wanted to hug him.

As the Doctor raised his hand in greeting, the Master walked over to the table he was at and sat himself down in a chair across from his old friend and enemy. He pushed his hood down and gazed at the Doctor. This was a regeneration of the Doctor that he didn't know, but despite him being quite different looking from the last time he saw him, he could still tell it was him.

"Hello, Doctor. It's been a while." He smiled a bit and his eyes drifted to the ice cream cone. "Strawberry, a very nice choice. So sweet in all the right ways, don't you think? Sugar and flavor and juicy dripping slurping licking eating." He was stuck on the subject of food, his ravenous hunger taking complete control of him as he spoke, his voice sounding fixated and obsessed. It was merely a side effect of the ravenous hunger, and it was one he had a hard time getting under control when he got rolling. But he managed to stop himself by taking a deep breath and pressing his hands against his forehead and closing his eyes tightly.

When he had a grip on himself again, he looked back up at the Doctor with a smile, almost as though nothing had happened. "I had wondered if you would turn up here sooner or later. Under the circumstances, and despite our history, it is good to see you." In that moment, he did truly mean that. No one had quite the history like the Doctor and the Master. Despite their long tumultuous history, the Master always found some measure of comfort when the Doctor was around. Perhaps it was their similarities, their matched intelligence. Sometimes he couldn't put his finger on it, but somewhere deep inside, he did have a soft spot for the Doctor, despite the fact he tended to foil all of his evil plots. But that only pushed the Master to be more clever the next time around, and perhaps this time around he could finally outsmart the Doctor, outsmart Romana, and all the Doctor's Companions that were here.
