Who: Will Turner and Billie Jenkins
What: Arrival in Lawrence. Unconscious.
When: Late evening, April 20th
Where: Random sidewalk
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

It had been months since Will Turner had stepped foot in the Caribbean port he had called home since he was a boy of only twelve. In that time he had seen more of the world than most would see within their entire life, had seen things that many denied the existence of. Cursed men, both skeletal and sea monster, ghost ships, the kraken. And now Will was picking his way carefully through the port of Singapore.

He kept his head down, avoiding making any eye contact with those lurking around him in the shadows. Nearby he heard the rhythmical march of many pairs of boots against one of the wooden bridges that spanned an inlet and ducked into an alley, all but holding his breath as the sounds grew nearer and then passed as a company of soldiers from the East India Trading Company made their rounds, looking, searching for something they wouldn't find. Barbossa and Elizabeth, as well as the few others who had accompanied them, had made themselves scarce until they were ready to proceed.

Ready to proceed. A small lump formed in Will's throat as he thought over once again what he was about to do. Barbossa's well laid plan would have gotten them safely back out to sea with ship and crew, and the charts, but it didn't get Will what he needed. If the blacksmith (no, not anymore, not by the standards of the EITC. He was a pirate now) was to accomplish what he had promised to do, for once in his life, he would have to be selfish. And if there wasn't enough strain on his relationship with Elizabeth, something else to be keeping from her. Before he could tumble back into the dark thoughts over just what it was she kept from him, what the intentions of her kiss to Jack had been, he forced himself forward to focus on the task. Staying to the shadows, he picked his way throughout the port towards the temple, where the charts he had been tasked to steal were.

Will made it past the front doors, creeping through the near darkness, aided by a few candles. His heart was thundering loudly in his ears as he listened for the guards nearby, then turned his attention towards the alter and the charts that where hidden behind it. As he moved out of the shadows, his hand brushed one of the decorative pieces and a shield clattered to the ground, destroying the quiet. The echoing sound was followed by footsteps again, five armed men appearing in the entry way. Will gauged the distance from his position to the alter. They would reach him before he reached it. Bloody brilliant.

Spinning towards the men, he initiated the fight, lunging forward as he slid loose the sword from his belt, one he had made, and had followed him on every adventure since. The downward blow of a staff was blocked and Will turned it away with his blade, swinging it towards his other hand to snag. His foot went into the man's stomach, knocking him away from the weapon and he spun, blocking another blow and turning it away. He ducked and spun with the grace of years of practice, fending off the four men in turn as they came at him. Wait, four?

One man went down under Will's blade, unable to deny the attack any other way. He spun, looking quickly for the other man who had suddenly disappeared when something hard cracked him in the temple. Stars exploded in his sight and he fell forward, the sword still clasped tightly in his hand. As he struggled to regain his footing, the heavy object came down again and then all went black.

There had to be something better than working in a 'magic' shop. The owner was a middle aged woman who thought she was a witch. A practitioner yes, but not a witch. Though Billie's know-how on the occult had easily landed her a job within the store, and it paid the bills. Having food, power and heat was something she and Christy needed, no matter how lame the job was. If she could get paid to fight demons, she would.

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock the time crept by, slowly, ever so slowly as Billie watched the old grandfather clock on the wall of the empty store. Her head was in her hand as she leaned against the counter, and sigh of complete boredom escaping her lips. Just a few more minutes and she was free for the day. Not that the store wasn't handy, it actually did have quite a few things she could use as an actual witch. But nothing that was really keeping her entertained right now.

Her arm was starting to go numb from being held in place on the counter for so long by the time her boss came out from the back room to let her go. She hadn't even noticed, except for when she stood up and there was a slight pain in her arm. Cringing, Billi shook out her limb, and then went for her bags. "See you later, boss!" Billie called over her shoulder, before heading out of the shop, swinging her jacket on over her shoulder as she went.

She'd only gone a block or so when her path suddenly was no longer just mostly empty sidewalk, but had a man on it. A man laying on the ground, which probably meant an unconscious man. An unconscious man appearing in the street meant magic of some kind, or a seal. Closing the distance between them, Billie dropped down beside him, and her hands hovered over his body for a second, as if debating if she should move him.

Instead of touching him, she leaned over, speaking directly into his ear. "Hey!" she said quickly, one finger poking him very gently. "Wake up!" She couldn't get a good look at his face, but if he didn't respond soon she was just going to roll him over anyway, and then call Wyatt to get down here and heal him, if there actually was anything wrong with him, other than being out cold. "Rise and shine, city streets aren't a great place for nap time." Her eyes traveled down his body, and then her face became one of confusion. He was dressed...oddly. In fact, everything about him screamed odd. Which wasn't exactly anything new, but unless he was some kind of dress up freak, this could actually be a lot harder than she had anticipated.

The dark was blissful. No thought, no sound, just quiet. After months aboard a pirate ship where he was subjected to drunken singing through the night hours and the growing tension between him and Elizabeth, he felt selfish for wanting just a few moments. Or he did until he remembered what had happened and the situation he was in. The world started to come back to him a little at a time. The ground pressed against his cheek felt colder, harder than the floor of the temple.

Had something just jabbed him? And was that a voice? Sounds started to come back, sounds out of place for where he had just been. Will started to move and a stab of pain shot through his temple where he'd taken the hit. "Mmmm," he groaned and forced his eyes open. The voice, a woman's voice, came from his side. That was most certainly not Elizabeth.

As if he had been freed from a spell, Will's surroundings took on clarity. The more he saw, the more he realized just how strange his situation had become. He pushed up quickly onto his hands and knees and backed up, turning to look at the young woman who had been speaking to him. So...strangely dressed. He tilted his head, confusion written clearly on his face. "What?" was the first word out of his mouth, the first coherent thought. "Where am I?"

A wave of relief washed over her when he moved, but that relief that he was okay was quickly replaced by something else. What she was thinking could only be described as complete fan-girl syndrome. Her first instinct was Oh my god Orlando Bloom!, but realization that this place was completely messed up quickly stopped her from tripping and drooling over over herself.

Orlando, not Orlando? Did it matter? So either this was a Hollywood star, which by the way he was looking at her, she doubted it. Not to mention his lack of security. Which meant he could be one of Orlando's characters, or...well, anyone else really who didn't have a face, from a book. She was ruling our Legolas right here and now though. "Uh.." she said, staring for a moment before she shook her head, snapping herself out of it.

"Lawrence." she said quickly, "Lawrence, Kansas." she got up off her own knees, coming back to her feet and straightening herself out slowly. "Ring any bells?" she doubted it did, but there was no harm in asking. "United States of America?" man this was going to take some major explaining to do.

Where had he ended up? This place looked unlike anything he had ever seen before. The shops, the lights, and what were those things sitting beside the street? Will stared at the metal thing that bore a slight resemblance to a horseless carriage. He glanced back at the woman. "Ring a bell?" he asked before shaking his head. "None of these places sounds familiar. Is it part of Asia?"

It made sense. If he had last been in Singapore, they would not have been able to move him very far before he woke up. At least he hoped not. Barbossa and Elizabeth were waiting for him to return, his father's afterlife depended on him. On a side thought, his hand dropped to his side, feeling a small hint of relief when his fingers brushed the hilt of his sword. He was armed, although he was fairly certain this woman meant him no harm.

Using the building wall behind him, Will rose to his feet. "This is..." Words failed him again as he looked around, as if it would help. But nothing was familiar. "Strange." And he had thought undead pirates and men who were half monster were the oddest things he would see in his lifetime.

Asia? Did she look Asian? Billie arched an eyebrow, and then almost laughed. "Um, no. That's on the other side of the world." she said, waving her hands slightly to try and demonstrate being on one side of the world as compared to another. Billie was almost positive she knew who this was, but she couldn't completely fangirl and plot the death of Kira Knightly's character until she was totally sure.

Glancing around, on sight, she didn't see anything strange. But she knew that if you really knew where to look, this place was the definition of chaotic. He was going to have one hell of a time blending in. But if King Arthur and his group of people could manage, than he would to. "Yeah, this whole place is the definition of strange." she said casually with a shrug.

"So, got a name?" she asked, a curious look coming over her face. If he said Will, this was going to make her day. If not her life. Because, come on, Will Turner, and that scene after taken the ship out of the water at the end of the move, and yeah...not a scene Billie was going to forget anytime soon. Not that she was going to allow herself to freak out just because the same guy might be standing infront of her.

The other side of the world? Will's eyes grew wide. Even Tia Dalma's magic had been unable to transport people that far. It was impossible, unless the witches of Singapore had far more powerful magic. Knowing Tia, he had his doubts that that was possible. Then it struck him. "I'm in the colonies?" he asked. That would be the other side, wouldn't it? This certainly wasn't the Caribbean, or England. But the colonies couldn't look much different.

"That is putting it mildly. Perhaps it wouldn't be so out of place as to ask the year?" Maybe it was all a dream. A very, very strange dream brought about by being hit on the head. "My apologies. My name is Will Turner," he replied, giving her a worried smile as he tilted his head forward. "May I ask yours?"

Colonies, right, history. She really needed to pay more attention to mortal history, that was for sure. "Sort...of? We're independent now." Didn't Canada still recognize the Queen? She really hoped he was able to handle this sort of information over load. There was weirdness all around where he was from, but she didn't think anything really pushed it this far. "Don't freak out or anything..but it's two-thousand and nine. Few more weeks and it will be two-thousand and ten."

It was him! The tiniest of smiles twitched on her face, though she fought to keep it in place. Any flash of excitement in her eyes she couldn't help. How many times had she watched this movie? She was pretty sure Disney was killing it by making a fourth one, but that didn't matter. Maybe Jack would show up next? "Nice to meet you, Will." she said, extending her hand forward to offer a brief handshake. "Billie Jenkins. If it helps, you aren't the only one who end up here with no idea how. Happened to me a little while ago."

He knew he wasn't going to like the answer before he heard it. If the colonies had gained their independence, they had come a long way from the ones he had known of. That was something that took years. But what he hadn't expected was to hear that he was centuries beyond where he was supposed to be. Will's mouth dropped open slightly. That was impossible. One did not just travel forward centuries. It took him nearly a minute to find something halfway intelligent to say.

"That's not possible." Even as he spoke, he knew it was. This woman had no reason to fool him, at least that he knew of. He needed only to look around to realize that he was far from home, in more ways than one. "A pleasure to meet you as well, Billie," he replied, somewhat numbly, as he took her hand. He faintly wondered at the nickname he'd heard only for males now a name for women. Things certainly had changed.

He was in worse trouble than when he'd started. Instead of a ship and and a set of maps, he now needed to find his way home through centuries. That little detail still hadn't sunk in, running over and over in his mind. "This isn't uncommon? People arrive here for no reason?" What would cause something like that? "How do they get back?"

She did her best to offer a half smile, though she got the message pretty clearly that he didn't feel like smiling. Briefly shaking his hand firmly, she pulled her arm back and dropped back to her side. If this had of been any other situation she might be contemplating never washing that hand again. At least for a moment, before she realized how gross that idea was.

"Well there is a reason, once you get here and figure it out." her hands went behind her back, fingers interlocking. "That's just it." she said with a sigh, eyes dropping for just a moment. "We can't. We can't get back. We are trapped here, in the middle of a biblical war. A demon, named Lilith, broke something called a seal, and now it's bringing people here from all times and worlds. We can't make it send us back. We're stuck." stuck until it was done with them. How that choice was made, Billie didn't know.

"There's a building, basically a place where a lot of people who have been stranded here stay at. It's safe, and it's free. If you want I can take you there and they can help you out. I don't live there myself- but they've got people who know what they're doing." she really didn't know what else to tell him. "Unless you wanted to try things on your own." but as she watched a number of cars race by, music blaring through the windows, she made a face. Him on his own didn't seem like the best idea.

Of course he couldn't. They couldn't. As Billie had said, she was in the same situation as he, although better adapted to deal with it. He shut his eyes tightly, running a hand over them. This was beyond him. A biblical war? Demons? "And I thought men who were half sea creature would be the worst I would have to deal with," he said, managing another smile, albeit a tired one. Life had become stranger and stranger since Jack Sparrow had come into it. This, however, he couldn't blame Jack for.

"If you wouldn't mind. I believe I'm well out of my depths here. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated." He couldn't do anything else for the moment, except get his feet back under him and adjust to the time he had found himself in. If no one had found a way back, it wasn't certain how long it would take to get back.

His attention was drawn to the thing he had been staring at earlier, only this time it moved. Quite nosily. "What is that?" he asked, pointing down the street after the one that had just passed, a black monstrosity that was making one of the worst noises he had ever heard. There was a human voice among all the screeching. "It sounds as if someone is being tortured."

If the idea of half sea monsters surprised her, she didn't show it. Probably because she knew exactly what he was talking about, but she wasn't about to share that bit of information. Either way, things were weird here too. "Nah, things just got a whole lot weirder. We're gonna need to get you some anti-possession things as well, which are at the apartment. I've got friends staying there, they'll make sure you're taken care of." not that she really wanted to walk away from Will freaking Turner, but she couldn't bring him back to her place, so the apartment was the safe place. "If you hate it you can always come stay with me and my sister for a bit, but it's safer at the apartments."

Looking back out to the street, Billie snorted back a laugh, grinning at his comment. "Those are cars. Thinking of them like carriages, only you don't needed horses to make them move. People use them to get around...people use them as transportation. The sound you hear is a type of music. Not exactly the best kind, it doesn't all suck that bad." Shrugging, she took one step in the direction she had been heading in before, and then motioned for him to follow.

"A lot as changed from...whenever you're from." she actually no idea what year it was that he came from. A long way in the past, she was just going to go wit that. "And it's more than just really odd buildings and cars. It will take some getting us to, but there's a lot of people from the past who are managing pretty well."

"Indeed. Next time I won't be so quick to think they can't get any stranger," he replied dryly, because they certainly had in a way he hadn't expected. "Anti-possession things?" That was a bit vague. "Does the demon take slaves? And there is something to prevent that?" That was a situation he hoped never to find himself in. A slave to a demon. "If they are as helpful as you have been, it will be fine. Still, the offer is appreciated."

Despite the frustration and the confusion, Will was intrigued by the mechanical things. The cars. He'd done a bit of work at the smithy to make things run efficiently but nothing that could make a carriage move on its own. To see how one ran would be very interesting. "Music has certainly changed since my time," he replied, not wanting to offend her if her taste was similar to that of the driver of the car.

He turned to follow after her, hurrying a few paces to catch up. "1675," he said. More years than he cared to count at the moment. "That's good to hear. Hopefully your friends won't mind answering many questions. I've been told I ask a lot and this place, and time, brings up many."

"They take over your body. Demons are black smoke, and they literally take over your body. But there's talismans to fight against that. Billie held up her own wrist and pulled back the sleeve of her jacket to show the talisman that was dangling from her wrist, just one of a few on her person. "They look like this. I think there's also a girl who does these tattoo like markings that are more permanent and stop it as well." there would be more solid answers at the apartments. "But basically, if you see anything with solid black eyes, run way. Anything with solid white eyes run faster." Running was the safe option, for now, "At least until you learn to fight them." because it sure wasn't easy.

Shoving her hands into the pocket of her jacket, she waited to fall into pace beside him walking, not wanting him to wonder off without her noticing, because things would really get out of hand. "There's all kinds of music genres these days. That was just one of the worse ones." some people had no taste, that fact in life was just never going to change.

"They're use to questions." she replied as she pulled out her cellphone to fire off a warning of who she had just found, and that she was bringing him back to the apartments. "If you have any now, fire them off, I'll answer what I can. We're close the apartments, so I'll do what I can until then."

Will's shoulders tensed slightly, the only giveaway of his reaction to the thought of something taking over his body for its own nefarious purposes. "I would like to avoid that," he murmured, squinting at the talisman she showed him. "For now, the talisman will work fine." He had seen men get tattoos and if he could, he wanted to avoid it. It seemed like an unnecessary amount of pain for something that would in time fade. "Solid black eyes or solid white eyes, run away," he echoed. As much as he disliked the idea of running, it was better to learn to fight the demons before engaging one.

"Genres?" It looked like he would have to get used to new words as well as the new machines and lifestyle of the colonies years ahead of his own. "I hope so. That did not reflect too kindly on the others." Although it did leave him curious as to what the others would sound like. "Though it did sound like something that would not be out of place in Tortuga." A sound befitting of drunken pirates.

A man passing in the opposite direction sent Will a strange look, moving a little farther over than was necessary as he passed by the two. Will glanced over his shoulder and then shook his head. "I might in a - " He paused and pointed at the object in her hand. "What is that?"

As long as he had the basics, that should last him long enough to get some sort of basic training. She knew the hotel leaders would see to it that he was well armed and knew how to at least defend himself, it not fight demons off. "Also, anything with like...a bumpy forehead, and fangs?" she suggested, waving her hand around her face area. "Is a vampire, and you need to avoid them. Or take off their head or something. There's an evil one running around here with a band of followers."

"Varieties." she said, naming off the first word that she associated with the world. "A variety of types...rock, hard rock, soft rock, classical, emo, punk, metal, house music...it goes on and on." she said with a shake of her head, it probably wasn't the best time to try and explain if she didn't have her play list here to let him listen.

She ignored the look from the man, not bothering to acknowledge him, people did that, they were rude, she mostly ignored them. "Cellphone. It's a form of communication. I'm letting the people at the apartments know I'm bringing someone back. They'll have a room and stuff for you ready." a room with a computer and a variety of other technologies that will probably bring on questions. She held it in a way that he could see the screen and buttons better. "Most people have one. You can send messages, or talk through this to other people who have one."

He had heard of demons before but these vampires were something new entirely. "Are they a different kind of demon?" he asked while mentally filing away, should he ever run across one of their kind, that taking the head off was the way of their defeat. Hopefully it wouldn't be something he encountered until he had learned a little more of the place and time he had ended up in. "There is quite the variety here."

The names she listed off meant absolutely nothing to him. It shouldn't have surprised him that there were so many kinds now, but how had all of those and more come from the few he knew of? "Those are quite a few. Perhaps I will be able to hear them while I am here and change my mind." He smiled slightly.

"That is amazing," he stated in awe. "If you wish to communicate with someone, you simply speak into this device and they would hear you?" He paused. She hadn't spoken into it, had she? "Or write," he amended. "That is clever." It was a relief to hear that he would have somewhere to spend the night. He wouldn't have had the first idea of how to go about it otherwise. "I'm afraid I don't have much on me at the moment, but I am willing to work to pay off my debt for their kindness."

[ooc: sorry, not getting any notifs for this thread >.<]

"I think so." she had to mentally stop and think about that one. "As far as I know theres only one type of demon from this place, but another one arrived from a different world and started making more of her kind, so theres a few vampires now." hopefully not to many, and hopefully they'd take care of that sooner rather than later. "They are bad news either way. And the Angels aren't much better." she added, sounding annoyed. She'd never met them, but she heard they were complete jackasses. Billie much preferred the Angels from home.

Billie offered a grin, looking over at him as they walked. "There's all kinds, and hundreds of different people who sing. You might find some you like, but it will probably take getting use to." though he'd still find some music he was use to, no doubt.

"That's the idea." confirming his question with a nod, she finished sending her message and then snapped snapped the keypad back into place. "Though it would be called 'texting' and not 'writing.'" Now that she thought about it, there was going to be a lot of annoying terms to catch up on for him. "Don't worry too much about the pay now, there are lots of people who still don't have jobs. That's half of why they're there. You'll find a way to help out somehow. There's always something trying to everyone around here."

[ooc: No worries! I know how IJ can be.]

A vampire could make more of itself? He supposed that wasn't too different than Davy Jones' men turning to sea creatures like himself once they were prisoners aboard his ship, like his father.

Bloody hell. How was he supposed to help his father while he was here? Who would keep an eye on Elizabeth? Barbossa? Even if there was tension between them, even after the kiss he had seen between her and Jack, if anything happened...no, Elizabeth would be fine. She had to be. Someone would find a way to return and then he would continue what he had set out to do.

"Of course. A place that has demons would have angels, wouldn't it?" he murmured thoughtfully. "You find them to be unhelpful?" It was an honest question. He had been taught that angels were guardians of a sort, although they hadn't done him much good of late. Trouble seemed to be a more constant companion.

"Texting." An odd term. "I wish to help however I am able. I could not take advantage of someone's generous hospitality and do nothing for them in return."

"The ones here are." she said, making a noise that could only be considered rude toward angels. "Back home they're not. They're helpful at home. Here? Bunch of jerks." thankfully she had never met one, but she had seen some of the comments they made online, of all places, and Billie did not approve. They needed new attitudes. Or to have their winds clipped.

Billie shrugged, pointing up ahead. "The complex is run by a woman named Buffy and a man named Andrew. Buffy is a Slayer...sort of like this female warrior who fights demons, and Andrew is her Watcher, who's kind of like...her guide or something, I guess. Anyway, theres a lot of them there. They won't see it as being taken advantage off. They're all in the same boat you are. Stuck some place you don't belong." though it seemed some people were better equipped to handle the end of the world, like demon hunters.

"So yeah, it's just that tall building up head. I think it's close to ten stories, heavily protected, you'll see." though now that she was standing beside Will Turner she didn't want to let him leave. Of course coming off as a stalker wasn't the best idea. So she'd have to pass him off to Paige, and then glare at her Whitelighter over her shoulder.

"Angels here are different from the angels of your world then?" If he was understanding correctly, more than just his year had changed. "I'm sorry to hear that. It's disappointing to hear that those who are supposed to bring solace bring such frustration." Then again, he had never met an angel before. Perhaps they were not as the preacher said.

He looked up at the building. "It reminds me of a fort in a way," he murmured thoughtfully, tilting his head. "I feel as if I will be in good hands then.
