Mason hadn't freaked out when he saw her move that way because, to be honest, he'd seen people move like that before. Never mind that each and every time he'd seen someone go from one point to another, only leaving streaks of color in their wake, he'd been high off his ass on one thing or another. That was beside the point.
Never let it be said that Mason was one to always do the smart thing. Sure, he didn't always know that he was being an idiot, but that didn't make his decisions, or the words that came out of is mouth, any better. "Oooooh," he said, in a teasing, high pitched voice, bringing up one hand to wiggle his fingers near his head. "The pretty blond is going to find me again and stop me. It's almost too bad that I'm not lying about this one, love. Because I've got to say, I'm really not all that easy to kill." God, that was true. He had to kill a reaper a few days earlier, and that did not go easy. And after chopping him into pieces and burning the remains they still weren't sure that he was going to stay dead, so they had him shot into space. Don't ask how they worked that part out. That was all George.
