John normally would prefer to just take the crooks and book them. But he also liked to be thorough. And he was sent to investigate, after all. He had to look into any and every possibility before resuming his task. As he glanced upward, his eyes had become red, the normal tint of those who came from Mars as he did. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Except.. ah. He saw a heat signature, someone up above on a nearby building. Perched. Maybe it was a witness. Or the culprit. Either way, he needed to know.
His eyes then returned to normal. A few seconds later, he had soared upward, a red streak behind him and he stood on the rooftop a few feet away from her. "Please remain calm, ma'am," John said as he held a hand up as though to reassure her he wasn't a threat. "I'm not going to bust you. But I do need some answers. What do you know about those criminals down there? Was it you who subdued them?" If so, it was good work. But he had to know. He knew that other cops probably wouldn't be as understanding. But he certainly was, since he had friends who did this sort of thing back home.
