Who: Sarah Mohr (newbie!) and Open
When: Late the afternoon of the 11th
Where: Public library!
Warnings: should be none
Sarah headed along the sidewalk on her skateboard, the same as she always did, headphones on, bobbing along with whatever was piping through them. It was three blocks later, when she found herself at a dead end where there should have been a right turn that she realized she was lost. So she did what any sensible person would do, she backtracked to see if she could find something she recognized. It was a city, just like the one she’d been in, but it was wetter weather, and none of the streets had the right names. She kicked her board up against her hip, hoisting it to tuck under one arm, heading for the nearest newsstand so she could at least find out where she was. She was glad that everything was in English anyway, that made everything easier on her, though still just as confusing. She had always wondered what she‘d do if she found a way to Narnia or Oz or some other else-world type place. She didn't figure that it would be Kansas though.
The first thing she did was pull her hood up against the oncoming rain. The second thing she did was check her pockets and her backpack, everything seemed to be present and accounted for, and she even had money, which was a blessing. After that she bought the day’s paper and asked the newsman if he could point her towards the nearest library, explaining that she had an essay to write based on a current events news story and needed somewhere quiet to do it, though what she was really figuring was that she’d be able to hole up there for a while, see if she could figure out on her own what had happened.
It didn’t take her long to get to the library at all, and she was crossing the lobby when the storm finally broke in earnest, a sudden deluge that almost darkened the windows. She shook her head as she padded off to find one of the computers with an internet connection, she had to find out where she was first of all, and anything else she could find out after that.
