"That's exactly what I'm doing, yeah. Sorry." He shot Ruby an apologetic look before he moved to scoop one of the cold beers up from the floor. He took a moment to twist the cap off the first bottle and walked over to the trap, extending it to Ruby with a hand. He met her gaze as she commented on what this was 'really' about and Sam held it without a flinch. "What is this about then, Ruby? Sex? Blood?" Sam glared at her, shaking his head. "I'm covered on the blood. Been keeping it in small portions, but I've still got some in that flask. That's not what this is about." The blood was a little stale next to the fresh, straight from the source he preferred, but Sam was okay by way of blood. He wasn't craving it and he was functioning just fine. This was about something else entirely and that something was Ruby. He wanted that to be made clear. Sam released a breath of annoyance, then ran a hand through his hair. "Look, just take the beer, okay? We seriously need to talk."
Talk later. She was trying to be evasive. Too bad it wouldn't work. Not with him. "You've been avoiding me for days now. For days, Ruby. I don't know about you, but in my book? That is not okay. What were you expecting to happen here? Did you think that I'd just simply forget that you existed and that you could keep avoiding me forever because of the fact? Or did you think that I'd just get used to you ignoring me all the time?" Sam turned from the trap, doing his best to keep himself from ranting at her like a crazy person. Unfortunately, that was kind of hard to do. Besides, he was pretty sure he was, at least in part, a crazy person. "You want a real relationship with me? Try talking. It's part of the process. Avoiding me is not going to make what we are stronger. And Ruby?" He raised his brows, looking at her quite pointedly. "We need to be stronger after everything we've been through. We won't survive if we're not. Talk to me. Tell me what the hell is going on here, because I honestly don't know what's going on with you right now."
