She certainly didn't have any idea of how bad things had gotten by the end of the war, nor could she quite imagine it. But with the Daleks involved, that did only spell trouble. Despite the genocide, Leela did appreciate that the Time Lords had taken the Daleks down with them. Then, one by one, questions began coming to her, she wanted to ask them, but Romana was still explaining, so there would be time for questions later.
"If the Doctor carried out the order, I am confident in believing it was the only thing left to do." In her travels with the Doctor, she had learned that he always tried everything he could to fix things or make a situation right. He always had a plan. And if he had carried out Romana's order, then that was the only thing that could have been done.
K-9 was the first to answer. "Affirmative, Romana. You are still comrade." The things he had heard were horrible, but he didn't have emotional circuits. He didn't feel one way or the other, though if Leela couldn't call Romana friend, then he would have to reconsider since she was his mistress.
Leela looked down at K-9, then looked back up at Romana. She was silent as thoughts of Andred passed through her mind. She was so hurt and confused and dismayed by all of this information, but she did think Romana was different by just sitting down and telling it all to her. After a moment, she nodded. "Yes, I can still trust you and call you friend."
