He hated this. He hated this. There were no fucking words in this world to describe how he hated this. First of all he was stuck in Ruby's body. That should have topped it all. However, there was the fact where Buffy was in Sam and while he had to problem looking at her .. she couldn't seem to look at him. And that irritated him. By a lot. He got it. He really did. Dean had had to constantly remind himself not to call her Sam. Still just because he understood didn't mean he had to like any of this.
They made their way back mostly in awkward silence. He'd been startled slightly out of his thoughts, mostly over how much he hated this, when Sam!Buffy spoke to him. "It better." He said shortly. Despite the voice being Ruby's ... body's, the tone was all him. He took a deep breath. Not really meaning to snap at her. Well, not exactly. He was just in a really bad mood. "Maybe. The kid thing hadn't lasted that long, did it?" Dean didn't know. He had been out of town for most of it and had caught the tail end of it. Just enough to convince Sam not to lock himself in the apartment forever.
Dean followed him ... her up the stairs and swallowed, steeling himself for what was about to greet him. He wasn't ready for this and he was pretty sure before all of this was over, he was going to end up giving ... his body a split lip.
