Who: Faith!Kara and Pike
What: Awkward times
When: Morning after the battle
Where: Faith and Pike's place
Rating: A for Awkward and/or Amusing
Status: Incomplete

The fight last night hadn't taken an real tole on her. The demons were easy to defeat, and no one tried using magic on her, so she'd walked away from it perfectly fine, as if it had never happened. Though not all of them had been that lucky. Still, with Lois' mind back into place, and the others also safe, Kara had slept well that night, having passed out while watching some black and white movie on television. She hadn't really caught onto what it was before she was sound asleep.

She woke up on her own the next morning, quite early, it was a habit for her. Everything was fine at first, she was comfortable, and warm. A sudden prickle of confusion hit her when she felt someone else very close beside her on the bed. When her eyes opened, she found herself in a room that wasn't hers. The hair coming out of her head, was brown, and unless she was mistaken, which she wasn't, Kara was not wearing the pajamas she'd put on before bed last night.

Slowly, very slowly, she shifted to look behind her, and came face to face with someone she didn't know. Or did she? He seemed familiar, but that didn't stop her jaw from jobbing, and then instantly reacting. In less than a second she was off the bed, blankets stolen and fully wrapped around her.

Whatever this was, she still had her powers, because she found herself at the edge of the bed in a blur of motion, and glaring down at the sleeping man, who probably would be waking up any second now due to the fact that she'd just yanked the blankets right out from underneath him. And if that didn't work, she'd wake him up. Kara was leaving, but not without explanations.

When he started to move, she watched him carefully, the glared that said I'm going to hurt you still present on her face. She didn't move as he rolled out of bed, the fact that he wasn't wearing clothes would have been enough to make her turn and leave if she wasn't so pissed off as it was. She knew him, he had been at the fight last night. His mind had been taken but now he was back.

Kara watched him carefully, her eyes never leaving his face. "I don't know what you are, but I'm giving you one minute to start putting me back in my body, or you're going regret this." she had no idea he had any kind of power, but then again, she didn't know him. Andrea did, but she'd never asked Andrea about Pike. She had to be in Faith's body, the girl he was seeing. To be honest, she had issues, more issues than Kara even, and she was a bit too morbid for her liking.

She waiting only a few seconds, not letting him respond before she was suddenly standing right infront of him, having moved way too quickly, even for a demon.

Kara had no idea if this was actually his doing, but he was the first person here, and she had to be sure she was actually safe. If he was responsible, and she didn't try and threaten it out of him, she could be putting herself in danger. With people from other worlds, you never knew what kind of tricks they were hiding.

"And don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about." she added, the threat felt foreign, this wasn't her voice. It was different, it was odd. This whole body was foreign to her. Shorter, built differently. She was still just as powerful, she knew she was still, in a way, Kryptonian, but that shouldn't be possible. Kryptonian powers didn't just...

She hadn't been struck by lightening recently. There'd been no power surge, she hadn't even been around Faith during the fight.

He'd really been intending to respond to her. He'd even had some words on the tip of his tongue. But then she was right there in his face, faster than any Slayer or demon could move. Pike didn't jump out of his skin, but only because he was pretty sure he was going to get hit if he so much as twitched. He took a slow, deep breath and kept his hands where they could be seen, palms open and facing her so that whoever this was could see he was not going to be trying any tricks.

It wasn't like he could do anything fast enough to catch somebody that fast off guard.

"Okay. Uh. Clearly you're not Faith. And not a demon, so by the way I apologize for thinking about splashing you with holy water." He swallowed hard, knowing full well that somebody that moved that fast could snap his neck and be in the next state before his body even hit the ground. "I have no clue what's going on." He made absolutely no attempt to look away or hide his gaze from her. He was a very good liar, but he wasn't trying to lie this time. "I have no idea how whatever it is that's going on here happened. I do know you're not Faith, but I definitely don't know who you are."

That speed did leave him with two guesses. He knew Clark could move that fast. So could other Kryptonians, and he knew Clark wasn't the only one here. He was fervently hoping that this was Kara, because if it was not, he wasn't entirely sure he'd be able to look Clark in the eye for awhile.

He was also direly concerned about Faith. If this was who he was hoping it was, then at least she was okay, but still. He loved her, worry kind of came right along with that.

For a few moments she said nothing, scrutinizing everything he said. Her mind worked quickly, but she took her time sorting through everything, and assessing his reaction. His movement, his tone. Kara had no idea how well this guy could lie, but she wasn't picking up an hints of it from his heart beat, or anything else. Other than the fact that he seemed very much aware that he was in trouble if she didn't believe him.

Finally she seemed to relax a little, and back down, taking a few steps back. "It's Pike, right?" she asked, voice more calm, but she wasn't smiling. She wouldn't be smiling until she had calmed down enough and knew that something was going to be done about this. "Is this Faith's body?" it had to be, but still she asked, holding up a piece of the brown hair that falling over her shoulders.

If she was in Faith's, then that meant Faith was in her body, back at the apartments. Or at least she really hoped that was where her body was. Searching for it was not high on her 'want to do' list. She just wanted to go back home, and get back to being blonde.

Looking back at Pike, it them seemed to dawn on her that he wasn't wearing anything, which caused her to look away quickly toward the wall. Kara was only modest to a point, but this was beyond that point. "I'm just going to...find clothes." She turned, and moving in a blur around the room, she managed to find Faith's clothes, and have them on in under a second. When she stopped moving, she was by the door of the bedroom, fully dressed and the blanket was on the bed. "I'll give you a minute." she hadn't even thought to tell him who she was. In her mind, she had to be the victim here, even if it wasn't his fault. Stepping out of the bedroom, she closed the door behind her.

When she stepped back, Pike let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. That had been one of the tenser moments of his life. The fact that she'd accepted what he said was a good thing, considering that if his theory was right, she had the capability to make him an impromptu astronaut without the suit. That would be very unpleasant, and not at all the way Pike imagined going out. He usually liked to imagine it happening in some heroic anti-apocalypse sacrifice.

He knew a little about a lot, although that was all from back home. Some kind of Musical Bodies thing was definitely not one of them, back home or here. "Right. Yeah, that's me." Somehow, he had the feeling her asking about Faith's body was rhetorical, but he answered anyway. "Yeah." Despite wanting to, he didn't add the 'so be careful with it'.

If he was looking at who he thought he was, then Faith was in the body of a slim blonde. The irony was not lost on him, and Pike had to suppress the urge to toss a roll of his eyes heavenward. Whoever had done this was definitely not skilled in subtlety. At first, he was so deep in his thoughts that he hadn't really registered what she'd said about clothes, instead just nodding at her. A second later it registered, and his eyes widened. "OH! Yes! Yeah. Clothes. Because pants are good." He winced at how utterly moronic he sounded and set about pulling on some clothes. He couldn't really claim to have dressed quickly when compared to her, but for him, it was pretty quick.

Then he turned, clearing his throat. "So. Just so I'm clear on names." He hesitated a second, and then asked, "Kara, right?" Please, dear god, don't let it be Clark.

It didn't take him long to get changed, but she occupied herself just by looking around. When she turned to the outer wall, she let her x-ray vision focus on what was outside of the apartment. It didn't take her very long to figure out where she was, and then when that was figured out, she quickly found the apartments. She could have kept going and looked all the way into her own bedroom, just to be sure she was there, but his voice brought her back to the room.

"Oh." Kara turned to look at him, this time with clothes on. Much better. "Yea...sorry. Probably should have said something." though apparently it wasn't hard to guess. There didn't seem to be many people here who could move as fast as she could. When she thought about it, the list was only at three people, and only one other person could hit as hard as she could.

Waking up to naked men wasn't exactly what she was use to. In fact, naked in men in general were pretty foreign to her. Back at home, she'd been too young to have that thought cross her mind. Here, she was powerful. Breaking people wasn't on her list of things to do, so she just...didn't. Which was making this really awkward for her. Shifting uncomfortable, Kara looked down to the ground. "Sorry about the threat." she added, "I was kind of thrown off."

Now what? Was she supposed to stay here with Faith's body? But she didn't want to stay here, she wanted to go to the apartments where all the witches were and have this insanity fixed. "I think I should just...go. To the apartments, and get some answers." Check on Clark, Lois and Andrea.

Pike waved the apologies off. "Don't worry about it. If it'd happened to me, I'd have probably reacted the same way." He chuckled lightly. "Only without the awesome powers." He noticed the awkwardness and did his best to try and look relaxed. He stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans and nodded towards the door. "We can both go. No offense, I know you'll take good care of it, but that's my girl-," there he hesitated, still not sure if Faith had decided to use the boyfriend/girlfriend labels. After a second, he continued, "That's Faith's body." He shrugged helplessly, giving her a halfway apologetic look. "She'd want me to keep an eye on her body for her."

He understood why she wanted to go back. The complex was where her body was, along with all of the people most likely to be able to help fix this. It didn't sound like a terrible idea to him, but as much as his well-hidden comic book knowledge wanted him to trust Supergirl, he couldn't just let someone, regardless of who they were, go wandering off with Faith's body. "I should probably head over there anyway. I've got a few ideas about this, and since most of the people who I'd be bouncing the ideas off of are there..." He shrugged again. It was as good an excuse as any.

So Faith was his girlfriend, yeah that made sense. Though honestly she just sort of wanted to get away from him. And traveling with him to the complex was going to slow her down, considering she could be there in two seconds without him. She could carry him, but right now she just didn't want to. "You do realize the bodies safer with me, right? Not like anything can hurt me." though Kara was well aware there was no point in arguing. Even if she did take off, he'd just follow her to the complex.

"Don't make excuses." she said, shaking her head. "You're protective, I get it." she felt like she should be grabbing a bag, or a purse, or at least her wallet. But nothing here was hers. "Ready? because she was leaving. "And what are your ideas?" she asked curiously. What could cause this, besides magic, was kind of beyond her at the moment. Maybe he was thinking the same thing. Magic. It was very possible.

Pike shrugged, the same apologetic look flashing across his face for a second. "Yeah, okay, I'm protective. Sue me." He knew there was a fine line between being protective and caveman, but to be honest, he didn't care too much. Better than not caring at all, in his book. Although it was true, Faith would probably be less than pleased if he just let her body walk off. "I get that. Still don't feel right about it, though." He shrugged. "Sorry."

When she asked if he was ready, he nodded. There wasn't much in the motel room that he needed. Ordinarily he'd have grabbed at least one weapon, but he still had the flask of holy water in his pants pocket, and he was going to be walking with a Kryptonian. Safe to say he wasn't worried about grabbing his revolver or blades right now. He reached out, opened the door, then nodded and gestured for her to go first. It was kind of habit with Faith, and even though he knew Kara wasn't her, habits were hard to break. Besides, there wasn't anything wrong with being chivalrous from time to time. "Ideas. Well, off the top of my head, I've got three. Magic. Back home, there were some spells I've heard of - powerful, from what I've heard - that could do this. Could also be a powerful demon, but I don't know a whole lot about the demons here beyond the basics."

There was also another possibility, but it was one he wasn't really thrilled to consider. "You also have to consider the fact that two of ours just shanked an angel." He glanced over at her, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "We don't really know much about what the other angels think of us. If a lot of them are like the one that got shanked, this could be part of some freaky revenge scheme." Of course, it could be any number of other things that didn't he wasn't aware of. He just didn't have enough information yet, which was something he planned on remedying soon.
