Finally Dawn was beside him, and he let his fingers lace with hers protectively as she went to hold his hand. Public affection wasn't something he was typically good at, but for Dawn he was willing to give it a shot and didn't even have anything snarky to say about it this time. "C'mon. Don't worry about it. They said they can handle the donuts. " He mused with a bit of humor at her as he gave Dawn's hand a light affectionate squeeze and looked over at Fred with his own nod of recognition. He didn't really feel comfortable in the med bay, but it wasn't about him. It was about making sure his girlfriend was safe while the others were hunting. For her sake he hoped they got her and put an end to it quickly.
Ben wasn't someone he recognized as he saw the man enter with donuts and coffee and his eyes instantly narrowed suspiciously as he looked him over. He'd never seen him before, spare maybe a post or two on the boards Tim didn't know what to say to so he just nodded a greeting at him once he asked Dawn for help. Apparently he was one of her friends so Tim supposed he could at least try to be civil and not leap to distrust. With his training and boss king of paranoia land it was hard. There was a tiny voice in the back of his head that said he should trust his instincts, but he didn't make a move. Tim didn't say much otherwise in the presence of the group, he just kept half an eye on his girlfriend and then looked over at the woman and her daughter. She was following Buffy's orders which meant she was okay in his book. Then Fred offered too, and Tim just listened. Mentally noting that they both had done what Buffy asked, and that made him feel more comfortable around them.
