"Just because I can doesn't mean that I want to or that I will." She arched her brow slightly at him; however, she didn't push the subject. Her thoughts unwittingly falling into line with his. The only reason she was too worried about her future was because she suspected that her father had stated some conditions to his best friend ... just in case. Because he knew his daughter. And because Uther also knew her. She suspected he knew that she'd kill any unfavorable husband in his sleep. Keeping her around would be less trouble than marrying her off to someone that she didn't find suitable. However, as safe as that kept her for now, she knew that it wouldn't forever.
She liked this time now. Women could choose who they wanted. Without any say from any man, except the one that they wanted.
Anyone else would have missed the falter in her step. Anyone else except for three people. Two of which currently lived in this building, one of the currently walking right next to her. Morgana was a master at showing people a face that she wanted to see. Manipulating her every action to hide her true emotions. However, master or not she was still a young woman. Still human and even she slipped up. Even as she rallied herself admirably, people who knew her for as long as Arthur had would notice.
It just wasn't fair. She gets stuck with the migraine and sore throat inducing nightmares. The powers she couldn't control that set things on fire, only God knew when when she was upset enough. Yes, yes. She accepted her powers. They were a part of her and she wasn't giving them up. However, it hardly seemed fair that Arthur would get a magical heir. Then again. It was Arthur. They'd always been pretty good at spiting each other. Even when it was totally out of their hands. Always been good at besting each other at something, even when they didn't know it was a competition. Which it wasn't. Because she didn't even want magical heirs. It just wasn't fair that Arthur had one. Never mind one that could heal. "I can just imagine the fit your father would throw if he ever showed up and learned about that." The mighty Pendragon line having some sort of connection with magic.
"How do you know for sure?" Her tone being skeptical was despite, not because, of her slightly irriational flash of jealousy. As unfair as it was. As annoyed she might be with Arthur over something that wasn't his fault and she knew he would have been fine without. It didn't mean that she wasn't concerned about him. About some crazy person claiming magical and future connection. Just because it was possible didn't mean it was TRUE. She was protective of Arthur. It would be just his luck that Wyatt actually wanted to kill him or something.
