He was glad she didn't argue. Honestly, Sam worried that she would. He wasn't entirely sure what he was getting himself into here by watching over Dean, but he knew that it was not going to be easy. Dean was already a handful as it was. Now without the ability to properly take care of himself? Fuck, Sam was going to need to get some kind of help. Along with several handfuls of asprin and a bottle of whiskey to top it all off. Dean was worth the trouble. He knew that he was. But it was not gonna be easy and Sam needed to accept that fact before he swung a leg over the saddle and tried to take this all on. Turning from the bed, Sam spotted a nearby chair and grabbed it by the handles. He picked it up and carried it to the side of the bed, then quietly sat down and leaned forward. Fingers clasping together, Sam focused on Buffy and listened to her as she spoke.
Almost instantly, a twisted sense of emotion stabbed into his gut. Guilt crossed with annoyance, followed by a sense of understanding. Then more annoyance. A slight hint of fear, too, considering what he had been thinking in regards to Dawn for quite some time now. He couldn't very well up and say that maybe handing Buffy's sister over to Glory was a stupid idea - honestly, if someone had tried to do the same with Dean he'd have knocked them flat on their asses without blinking - but there was a flash of uncertainty that darted across his face before he lowered his gaze and focused on the hands he'd clasped together between his legs.
"So what are you gonna do, Buffy?" Sam didn't look at her when he spoke this time. He worried that his thoughts in relation to her sister would be displayed like an open book if he dared to do so. "Are you just going to cross your fingers and hope that you find the solution to this soon? 'Cause, I gotta say, the odds aren't looking very..." He trailed off, knowing that he didn't need to finish that sentence for Buffy to get it. "I don't want my brother to be this way forever. Because if he is - it's not really living, is it? We both know that. It's not just him either. And we don't know when she'll stop doing this to people. Don't even know how many she's already done this to."
