Your friendly neighborhood Xander-shaped friend. ([info]xander_shaped) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
It was only the sound of the name that made Xander halt in his tracks. Oracle. Followed by the 'Babs'. Before, he might have thought someone was running around taking their LARP a tiny bit (and by tiny, he meant completely) too seriously. But Xander knew better now. This whole city was filled with masked superheroes and villains alike, what with that McCrazy Seal zapping people from all over the place back and forth like it was the worlds most entertaining video game ever. He was no longer a member of the Fictional Character Skeptics Society after his first Hellboy encounter either, so Xander knew better than to take these things by chance at this point. He had been moving in exactly the opposite direction that Stephanie had been headed in, only just a few paces ahead so that he had been able to miss her as she wheeled out from the corner behind him. However, as soon as he heard those words, it was a different story entirely. He turned in his tracks, the hand that was gripping onto the plastic cup of coffee he'd been out getting suddenly loosening it's hold.

Then, just like that, the cup fell. It dropped onto the sidewalk, lid popping off and hot coffee spilling itself all over the sidewalk. Xander didn't notice. He was too busy gaping at the figure ahead of him - and, in association, the set of wheels that came with her. Mouth wide open, Xander brought both hands up to grip at each side of his head and immediately let out a: "Holy witty phrase of the moment, Batgirl!"
