The fact that Kendra highly doubted that she would find anything didn't keep her from patrolling. She had been patrolling since she showed up in this place. The lack of vampires not stopping her from knowing this place and doing her duty. No. The lack of vampires in the area only had her extremely restless. Even though the demons were frequent in this dimension, they weren't easy to notice and that was simply one more frustration.
Frustrations. Kendra had plenty of those.
As much as Kendra wanted to hunt-down Drusilla and face her; she knew she wasn't ready. Nevertheless, that didn't mean she would rub if she ever encountered the vampiress, alone or not. Just like a lack of monsters to kill hadn't kept her from doing her duty, fear wouldn't either. Most would call her stupid or suicidal. Lucky enough for her, Kendra had never been one to care for the opinions of most.
Just the opinions of a few. It hadn't been like that. It had just been her and her watcher. However, she had found that she respected the opinions of Buffy and Mr. Ha -- Xander. Which was likely the only reason she hadn't stormed out of the training room when she had found Xander there along with Buffy and Buffy had told her what to do. At first she had thought they were mocking her yet soon enough she realized. Realizing, however, didn't mean she was happy about the situation. And despite the calmness to her form and to her outward appearance, there was a slight irritated twist to her mouth. To say that the first "lesson" had ended badly was an understatement. She was still sore about it and with them both.
They were walking when Kendra felt a ... prickle. It was a familiar sense, one that she had still been practicing honing before she died. She looked towards Buffy almost the same time the vampire tackled her friend. If it had been anyone else, they would have stood there. Dumbstruck.
As it ws, even Kendra had a moment of blinking shock. She managed to rally very admirably, immediately falling into postion.
She met Buffy's eyes. This? Was not good. However, she couldn't quite help the glint of excitement in her eyes.
