The prices were going to be jacked, but the food seemed to be decent, from what she could tell. The little old man under a broad rimmed had was watching her carefully as she examined the fruit and veggies in front of her. She went through a lot of fruit, and was constantly running out. He seemed to take more interest when she began selecting a variety of foods from his cart, the food hidden from the sun by a massive umbrella protecting the selection. Bananas, mangoes, apples, carrots, celery, obviously not all of this grown by him unless he had some sort of green house that could grow these things. Eventually she had a large paper bag filled with fruits, veggies, some milk and a crate of eggs at the top, and secured in. The little man now smiled cheerfully at her as he pocketed the bills she had handed over for the food.
Her business outfit was still neat and pristine, not a fabric of the white and black outfit out of place, though she'd let down her hair to spill around her shoulders. To this day Kara still couldn't master much past lip gloss, so that was all that decorated her face, she didn't see why anyone would need something else.
Stopping outside of a large music store, she glanced at some of the DC selections while music being controlled from the inside played outside on the street, though you'd only hear it if you were close enough to the store. She didn't see anything she was overly interested in, and she didn't much feel like going on. The shop on the other side of the little food vendor was a clothing store. Dangerous. She found herself staring up at a red dress, debating if she needed to go inside and buy it. If she could afford it.
