Who: Marian and Drusilla
What: An attack
When: Sunday Night, after Marian finishes work
Where:  Street between the library and a church
Rating: High...to be safe
Status: Incomplete

Marian was in charge of helping to lock up tonight, which meant she wouldn't get to leave until a little later than normal. Not that she cared, she liked being at work now that she went back to an empty apartment. She thought on asking Much and Allan to stay the week, just to give her company, but she didn't want them to think that she was a girl in need of protecting. So she kept herself busy, tried to ignore how much she missed Robin. And how worried she was about what was happening.

She knew that the church wasn't far away, perhaps a twenty minute walk. And she always had been the brave type, she wouldn't let anyone scare her away from doing anything. Plus, if that woman she had heard so much about did turn out Spike had told her what she needed, and she had both the cross around her neck and the stake in her bag. And now that she was on her way to the chapel, she could see about Holy Water. After all, the chapel at home use to mention having such a thing. She just had to hope someone was there.

She was half way there when she realised she had to cut through a little alleyway if she wanted to get their quicker. It was either that or walk a lot longer, and she really just wanted to get the supply then head home. But then she remembered her promise, to keep safe, and walked right past the alley and along the street. It was quiet, but surely it was safe? She had the cross and the amulet, she was safe. She hoped.

Drusilla was quite pleased with herself. And why shouldn't she be? She may have been brought there against her will and all alone. But she'd made the best of it.

And now? She even had a daughter to care for.

This absolutely thrilled her. She'd picked the girl out of all the other orphans because she hadn't cried out or screamed when Drusilla had begun killing. Instead, she had only glared. The kitten had hate in her heart, and it had called to Drusilla. Hence, she was the lucky one who had been given a taste of Dru's blood. When the following night had come and she'd finally awoken and tracked down Dru, the vampire had already gone 'shopping'-meaning she had taken some clothes from a store-and was all ready for her girl.

She'd told the girl that her name was now Lucinda, and she seemed to be willing to go along with it, and was extremely eager to learn from her new mummy. Dru had already taught her a little about what they could do, but since Lucinda was hungry...well, the girl had to learn sometime.

The moment the sun had gone down, Drusilla lead her sweet Lucy out into the streets. Dru wore read and black, and Lucy wore white. After all, it'd be perfect to draw in unsuspecting prey. Dru spotted the woman walking alone fairly quickly, since she and Lucy were at the opposite end of the alley. Slipping into the shadows, she gave Lucinda her own Miss Edith, and whispered to her quietly. "Be a good girl, now! Mummy will be right over here. Look at the girly down there." She pointed towards the woman who was stepping into the alley at that moment. "She's my present for you! Be good and I'll let you unwrap her, okay?"

Lucinda nodded in delight, and began to skip into the alley. At the moment, her features were that of a human; her hair hung long and loose and she had a bow in her hair that her new mummy had tied herself. Her bright green eyes watched the woman approach, and she sniffed the air curiously. Underneath the scents from the alley, she could smell two things: warm coppery blood, and something else that her mother had told her was fear.

They both made her stomach grumble a little, and she licked her lips, holding Miss Edith close.

Marian had decided that the quicker option was better and turned into the alleyway, her steps quick as she walked through the darker street. The quicker she got through this, the quicker she would get to the church. Then she could get home. Holding her jacket closer to shield herself from the cold air, she frowned when she spotted a small figure. When she got closer, she realised it was a young girl. She must be freezing in that dress, and why was such a young child out alone at this time? Stopping just in front of her, Marian gave a concerned smile to the girl.

"It's late. Are you okay?"

Lucinda smiled brightly back up at the woman, hugging the doll a little closer. "I'm fine! My mommy said to stay here and I'd get a special present tonight." Meanwhile, Drusilla was moving stealthily through the shadows to slide behind the woman. "Do you live nearby?" Lucy's head tilted curiously, giving no sign that she saw Drusilla moving behind her.

Before she would've had the chance to answer, one of the vampires hands snaked out from behind and wrapped around Marian's throat, pulling her into the half-open back door of a store that was in the alley, one that she could tell by scent was empty. It was the back of a jewelry store, as evidence by the fancy boxes that could be seen in the dim lighting.

Drusilla looked over her shoulder to Lucinda to be sure she was following, and nodded for her to close the door. Shoving the woman towards the wall, Drusilla's eyes returned to her. Lucy walked up to stand beside her, and Dru lightly ran a hand through the girl's hair, while smiling at Marian. "Do you like my daughter?"

That was strange; a mother telling her young daughter to stay in an alley. Especially at this time. At the question, Marian went to answer but found she couldn't. There was something latching onto her throat and dragging her back. Marian's automatic reaction was to kick out but it done very little to help her.

Then she was being pushed and her hands scraped across the wall but she didn't make a sound. She would not give the woman the satisfaction of knowing she was hurt or scared. At the question, it took a moment for Marian to find her voice.

"She's...very pretty," was the most Marian could come out with.

"She is, isn't she?" Dru's other hand rose, holding up the necklace that she'd ripped from the woman's throat, containing the cross and the amulet. She glanced towards them, holding them up to the light. "What pretty trinkets. See, Lucinda?" She turned to the little girl and handed them to her.

Lucy, not yet knowing any better, reached up and took them, her hand grasping the cross and amulet first. As the cross burned her skin, she gave a small shriek, snatching her hand away again as her face shifted into vampiric mode. "It burns!"

"Yes it does, my sweet. Given time, though, you won't care." Drusilla didn't seem to care about her 'daughter's pain. She grasped the cross herself, and gripped it tightly. As smoke began to rise from her clenched hand, she smiled down at Lucinda. "You can do this too! You'll just have to practice. But first...." She dropped the cross on the floor, then shifted her eyes towards the woman as just remembering she was there.

"Dinner time." She smirked, and in the blink of an eye, she was at Marian's side, gripping her arm and pulling it out. "Come here, Lucinda."

When the woman held the necklace up, Marian's eyes went wide as she looked down at her neck seeing that it was bare. She didn't have much now, and her bag had dropped when she had been pushed to the wall. She somehow knew there was no chance she was going to manage to grab it. At the shriek of pain, Marian looked back up and pushed herself closer to the wall in fear.

The woman who attacked her was by her side in a moment, Marian barely having enough time to hear exactly what she had said. Then she felt an intense pain rip through her and she bit her tongue to stop a scream. She was never the type to give anyone the satisfaction. Her eyes turned to the young girl, deciding staying silent was her only option here.

Lucinda moved over quickly, passing Miss Edith back to her mummy, and reached out, gripping the woman's arm. She licked her lips as she looked up at her, smiling wickedly. Seconds later, her mouth latched onto the woman's arm as she wrenched it, delighting in the sound of the bones cracking. Her small fangs cut deeply into a vein, and she began to suck out her blood greedily.

Drusilla's smile grew in delightment as she let go of the arm herself, letting Lucinda take control. Meanwhile, her razor sharp claws darted out and ran lightly down Marian's cheek, drawing some blood. She brought her nails to her own lips and lapped at the blood. "Mmmm. You taste like trees." She smirked faintly, then glanced down at Lucy. "Now now, don't be greedy, dearie. You don't want to get sick from eating too quickly, now do you?" She pulled Lucy away from the woman for a moment, then leaned in to take her own quick bite from the arm. As the blood welled up in her mouth, she drank lightly, then licked the wounds shut and straightened again.

Her gaze met the woman's, and she tilted her head. "Won't you scream for my girl?"

When the young girl bit into Marian's arm even she heard the noise it made. But she did not let a single noise leave her mouth. Perhaps it was her stubborness, but she would not allow them to draw one single noise of pain from her lips. They would win completly if she cried out, they would know it was painful and would probably like that.

She tried to pull her head away when the woman drew blood from Marian's cheek with her nails. But it was useless, she managed it in the end. Then she was biting her arm and Marian let her eyes close for a minute as she tried to control herself. She opened her eyes just in time to see the woman leave her arm.

At her question she continued to stay quiet. She was not going to waste her breath on replying to her.
