A few days ago she had been so excited for Tuesday... and then this new reality hit, and everything had come toppling down. She'd spent long hours at the hospital - hours the length of which she hadn't encountered since she'd left Royal Hope after her residency. If nothing else she had succeeded in impressing some of her fellow staff members with her work ethic. She'd put in 23 hours the night that the Ms. Jennings was brought in. And while she was awake and seeing visitors, it made Martha feel no better - knowing to an extent it was their fault this had happened... somehow.
Despite the thoughts clouding her mind, she got ready - having spoken with Booth about his medication. It was one less thing for her to worry about. He had what he needed. And as she stepped out of the shower and dressed - certain to put a sharp pencil (because she had no other sharpenable wood in her apartment) in her purse. She didn't know what good a pencil would do, but she felt better having something than nothing. She was careful to put her TARDIS key in her pocket, never letting it off her person. If something happened? It might be what wound up saving her. She didn't know.
The last piece of her outfit, before she pulled on her jacket - hearing the knock on the door - was the anti-possession pendant. She didn't go anywhere without it these days. She had to wonder if it would be any use against vampires... somehow she doubted it. pulling on her jacket she pulled her door open and saw Eliot standing against the wall. "Hullo," she tried to smile, even managed a small one, but it didn't really reach her eyes. With everything that had happened this week it wasn't all that surprising. She didn't know where they were going, and it was something she was going to have to ask. "So, ready to go?"
