Pike couldn't help but smile at the interplay. Friendly interplay. Faith needed this right now. Friends, connections, support, normality. These were all important to healing. It wasn't impossible to do it without all those, he was living proof of that, but it wasn't easy and often left you with more scars. He was living proof of that, too.
He turned, intending on plopping down on the floor in front of where Faith sat on the bed. He'd avoided the awkward for as long as he could and-and Andrea was asking for plates. Thank you, Andrea! "Plates. Yeah, we've got a couple." Sometimes there were leftovers, after all. He nodded towards the bed and went to retrieve the plates. Pike, let a guest do anything other than be a guest? Oh hell no.
He got the plates, simple and cheap paper affairs, and doubled up the plates as he passed one pair to Andrea and one pair to Faith. He then tossed the rest of the stack lightly onto the bed and plopped down on the floor in front of Faith. His mind boggled at how his life had changed in a few short weeks, but with the exception of Andrea wanting to hit him, they were all changes that he was perfectly okay with.
In fact, as he glanced up to Faith and couldn't help the little smile that came to his face, some of these changes he didn't think he could do without.
