Who: Nick and Paige
What: Scaring the bejesus out of Nick.
When: Thursday afternoon.
Where: Outside of the apartments. At least at the start.
Warnings: Uh. Maybe light cursing? I can't really think of anything else.

Nick had a day off from the comic shop, which was just fine with him. Especially since he wasn't really that into comics to begin with, he just needed a job. Plus it was a pretty relaxed place to work. Except on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Those got hectic. Because new comics came out on Wednesdays, and Saturdays were just the busiest to work any sort of retail.

So what was Nick doing on his day off? He was sitting out back reading. No, it wasn't a comic book, just an actual book. The weather was still nice enough out that it wasn't too cold in the sun, and he was just able to relax. That was a major plus side when it came to this new dimension, he could relax way more often than he ever could back in his own world. Back in his world, the American Government wanted him. They knew who he was, what he could do, and they could track him down. That's why he moved so much. Here? Not so much of an issue. In fact, it was sort of the opposite when it came to the government, because he didn't exactly exist.

But hey. That was fine. It just meant he could do things like taking the time to read a book.

Nick definitely didn't know there were any porters around. Really, he should have at lest assumed that there might be one, but he wasn't thinking that way since there wasn't anyone from his world around. But when someone was suddenly there, and momentarily covered in shimmery (thanks a lot, Cassie, for getting that word in his head at times) light, he couldn't help jumping. "Holy shit," he said as he jumped, eyes just a bit wide.

He watched her for a moment, and once she'd stopped shimmering, he added, "Uh, I didn't know there were any porters around here." Really, he could probably blame himself for that. He hadn't exactly been out making buddies with everyone, but that was just a habit he'd had since he was a kid. Especially since his dad was killed. The more friends you have, the easier the watchers can track you, or the sniffers can sniff you out, the more people who really know you, the more ways for you to be found.

Luckily, he didn't have to worry about that in Lawrence, it was just a force of habit.

"Sorry!" Paige said, face contorting into a slightly exaggerated-but no less sincere-apologetic face. When he contined and mentioned 'porters, her ever expressive features, became slightly confused. Until she figured out quickly enough that he meant teleporter. There were so many different kinds of teleportation in her world that they each had it's own name, even if it changed by even the subtlest of variations, it would get it's own name. Only white-lighters travelled with orbs. Paige was curious about the types of people who teleported in his world. If they were magically inclined or was it only a genetic thing where people just teleported and they happened to teleport with orbs.

"Actually there are a few of us." Paige said, with a slight smile. "Six to be exact." She and Wyatt could orb and the Potter-Weasley and Granger group could apparate. Paige didn't add Phoebe who could do so but through spells and not naturally. She wondered if she should add Prue. Since Prue could astral project. Which was sort of a form of teleportation but not exactly. "Seven. Sort of. And we all do it in different ways." She quickly amended. Shifting what was in her arms, just slightly so she could move her right arm, Paige held a hand out. "I don't think we've met. Hi, my name's Paige." She didn't add in the fact that she was third in command or newly dubbed the Minister of Magic. Because that wasn't who she was. Or how she was. She'd mention it later if she felt that it needed to be. Right now, she was just a girl who shared a building with him. With an easl at hand and the ability to teleport.

Really, Nick should have probably acted somewhat surprised at the fact that a chick just teleported in front of him, especially being as no one around actually knew that he was a mover. But, with all the weird stuff that happened around there anyway, he wouldn't be surprised if no one second guessed his lack of surprise at most powers he saw.

Okay, that one person with the fire, that was kind of weird, even to him.

"Huh. Good to know. Next time, I'll show a distinct lack of surprise," Nick said with a bit of a grin. "Unless, you know. It's surprising again. Then I might act surprised. Just... no porting in when I'm in the shower or anything."

Paige found herself smiling. "You never know. It might be a bit surprising. The blue and white orbs." Despite her arms being occupied, she still managed to move her hand in a vague motion. It was a habit. Having to use all of herself to express what she was saying. "Tend to freak people out." Amusment etched her features."Uh .. no. I tend to avoid that. Unless it's to harrass my sisters. And even then only in emergencies. So unless that building is falling all around us or demons manage to get in? You're safe from this witch's peeping."

Not that, you know, she'd object to orbing while he was in the shower. Because hello, she might have been sex-depraved and super busy lately, but her brain hadn't managed to leak out of her head yet. She had eyes.

"Oh, I'm Nick, by the way," Nick said, grinning. He couldn't help forgetting to introduce himself a moment earlier. She had just appeared out of nowhere, after all.

"Hey, can I help you with that stuff," Nick thought to add once it hit him that she did have her arms full. It didn't take all that long for him to get out of the chair and move closer, arms out and ready to take some of the stuff if she did actually want help. He may not have had either of his parents for very long, but he was raised right while he had them. Including lessons about helping people out, but only when it wouldn't compromise yourself and lead the Division to you.

But hey, The Division wasn't a part of this universe, so that was handy.
