There was a moment where she thought he'd take her, just a moment, a look in his eyes, but it passed, he fought it and he pulled back from her, because why wouldn't he? He wasn't ready, and she had pushed and pushed and flirted and flirted and it wasn't fair. She felt him loose the grip on her inside and suddenly felt just a little colder for loosing the connection. Would it have been so bad, being with him. Just one night, just them. Or maybe it really would be better to wait like she figured he wanted. But she wanted him now, here. She wanted him so desperately because it had been so dammed long.
But Ruby should have known better, she knew she shouldn't have done it. Sam untangled them and stood, slowly, carefully, stepping to the side of the couch and all Ruby could do was try and focus her breathing, try and calm herself. God damn him he'd frustrated her just where they'd been. She'd been doing most of the flirting though. It wasn't his fault.
"I should never have kissed you like that. I should have known better, you're not ready yet, not for that. It'll take time. I know it'll take time. Waiting would be the smart thing right? Sensible?"
Screw sensible, she wanted him to throw her down and rip her shirt off and just...
No. Focus, she needed to focus.
"It's harder than I thought it would be though. Being around you like that, after you drink, usually we'd..." she didn't need to fill in the details. "And I just want you. So much. But you didn't do this, you didn't tell me to flirt with you. You didn't do anything wrong."
