It was a warming thought, knowing that Ruby no longer belonged to anyone else. That was what it had been like before, hadn't it? Lilith had practically owned her. Azazel had been...something. Her leader, maybe. Now he was out of the picture, as was his fucked up master plan. Ruby wasn't following it anymore. She was on his side. That immediately eliminated Lilith from the equation, save for the part where they were going to find a way to kill her off eventually. At least, he knew that he was going to. Yet, because Ruby was no longer in on the plan, that made her completely his. The playing field was a lot more evened out now that she didn't have her loyalties thrown out on the other side. He belonged to her and she belonged to him. It was as it should have been, but better. Because now he knew everything. Sam knew why Ruby had really approached him from the start. And as much as he hated what she had done and tried to do, he still loved her. She was still beautiful to him.
"Yeah," Sam agreed, "and I'm okay with that. Wasn't before 'cause of..." He froze, the feel of her hot breath against his neck completely throwing him off. In a good way. Sam screwed his eyes shut and exhaled slowly, his breath coming out in a shudder. "...'cause...of stuff." Sam tilted his neck closer to her, not really giving the action much thought as he did so. It was instinctive. He liked the way that light brush of breath had felt. Accidental or not, Ruby had hit the one spot that drove him completely insane and Sam sort of lost it a little when she did. Every single time. "But it's okay now. We're gonna be okay." He tightened his hold on her just a bit more, both physically and mentally. "We've gotta be."
